Clinical Laboratory Scientist Thanh Le, 37, of Lansing prepares the master mix formula later to be combined with the extracted DNA sample to test for Orthopox at the Sparrow Hospital lab in Lansing, on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022. The combined sample is placed in the Cobas Z 480 machine, which analyzes the sample for Orthopox. If the result turns out to be positive, they rerun the process to specifically test for Monkeypox.
