Listen Now! Live, from the SEC Meetings, it's Gainesville Sun columnist David Whitley

The city of Destin, situated along Florida’s Emerald Coast just east of Pensacola, is known mostly for its white sand and clear waters.

Its two famous seasonal residents include chef Emeril Lagasse and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

But this week, Destin — or Miramar Beach, to be exact — was a bustling town hosting the SEC Spring Meetings.

There was plenty of anticipation leading up to the meetings.

Last week, you had Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher trading barbs, followed by Gators legend Steve Spurrier adding his own drive-by comments.

How would Saban and Jimbo react to each other?

Then, there's the issue that led to the two titans trading barbs: Name, Image and Likeness.

Discussions also centered on the future of the SEC once Texas and Oklahoma joined. What will that look like? Will divisions be eliminated? And how would an eight- or nine-game conference schedule look?

There also is the idea of the SEC creating, running and profiting from its own intra-SEC postseason.

So, what has been coming out of the meetings? And how different will college football continue to look?

We’ll get some answers from Gainesville Sun columnist David Whitley, who’s been in the Panhandle covering the meetings this week. He’s the latest guest on “The *State* of Florida Sports Podcast,” powered by the USA TODAY Network.

David breaks down everything he's seen and heard, from new LSU coach Brian Kelly acting as peace maker for Saban and Jimbo, to the contentious discussion about NIL.

We also talk about the big personalities now coaching in the SEC and we go through the scenario of which coach might win a battle royal, should one break out in the meeting room.

It's a fun listen where you're guaranteed to learn something.
