Despite a rough season, the Jacksonville Jaguars have earned a new fan — but it was an accident.

While on a trip visiting family in Orlando, Daniela Mora, 23, who lives in New York City, came across a Dooney & Bourke purse at Marshalls. She was intrigued by its cute design and the thrill of scoring a nearly $300 bag by a well-known brand at the discounted rate of $40.

There was only one problem: that cute design was actually the Jaguars' logo.

"I'm actually so dumb," Mora said in a now-viral TikTok post about the purse. "My sister's like 'what's this NFL tag?' and I'm like ... thinking it's just, I don't know, endorsed by the NFL? I don't know."

The Times-Union caught up with Mora to find out how things unfolded.

"I saw the bag and loved the look of it, the jaguar patch looked slightly out of place but I truly just thought it was the design and went with it," she said.

Since the bag had a security alarm on it, Mora didn't even notice the NFL tag until she was paying at the register. Only after getting home did her sister find the team online. She added that her dad and uncle saw the bag later and quickly recognized the logo.

Mora summarized the events in her TikTok.

"I find out, literally the Jacksonville Jaguars logo [is] on the bag," she said in the video. "I'm here thinking this is just the cutest little design ever and it's like a football team — and like, what is football? What? [The bag's] still cute but like, go Mets? I don't know."

Mora's unawareness when it comes to sports combined with her Gen-Z-centered vocal fry made for a loveable video on the social media platform that's been viewed more than 500,000 times. It's not her first popular post on the platform — she has over 16,000 followers on TikTok as well as 12,000 followers on her satirical meme Instagram account, Relatably Unstable, which she runs with her college roommate. During the day, she works as a social media manager for a digital talent network.

Comments on the TikTok ranged from locals writing "Duuuval," to the NFL's official account adding, "We endorse."

"I didn’t expect this TikTok to blow up. I typically talk about funny encounters and comical content on my TikTok (@danyella5000), so since this was such a genuine silly mixup I had to share," she said. "Some people don’t believe I truly didn’t know it was a NFL team but if you know me personally, this definitely [is] something that I'd do."

And Mora wasn't alone. In the comments, other non-Jaxsons have posted about learning through the video about the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Within a few days, the Jaguars' social team also saw Mora's post.

"What a cute video," the team commented. "We might have stuff that could match it."

They ended up sending Mora a care package with swag including beanies, a flag and a Trevor Lawrence jersey.

"Suddenly, I'm a big football girl," Mora said in a new video of herself unboxing the Jaguars swag, adding that 2022 will be her "sporty girl era."

Mora signed off her unboxing video with an iconic, "Go Jags."

"I can officially say I’m a Jags fan!" Mora told the Times-Union. "Despite being from another state and only recently learning they exist, this whole experience with them has been super fun and tale-telling that they truly care for their fans."

Not bad for someone who doesn't know what a touchdown is.
