Little Caesars coming to South Burlington this winter

Back in April, a Las Vegas developer announced he would be bringing a whole lot more Little Caesars pizzerias to the Burlington area. Now, the opening of a Little Caesars in South Burlington is on the horizon.

The new franchise will be located in a former gas station building at 1241 Williston Road between Al's French Frys and McDonald's. It is estimated to open in mid-December, said Tenea Davis, real estate project manager for Grey Peak Development.

It will be the only Little Caesar's in South Burlington when it opens. The Essex Junction location off Center Road is currently the only Little Caesars in the area which James Allen, president of Grey Peak Development, bought last year, along with the Little Caesars in Rutland. Allen said he's targeting Burlington, South Burlington, Barre, St. Albans, Middlebury, Brattleboro and Bennington for his "first expansion wave."

Jennifer Allen, James Allen's wife and president of the developer's food-specific company, said in a news release she believes Vermont will support up to 12 Little Caesars.

"We prefer to own our buildings, but will lease existing space, as well as acquire existing pizza businesses and convert them to our prototype," Jennifer Allen said in the release.

Davis said the company has more restaurants in the works for the Burlington area but the plans are not solid enough to announce yet.
