It looks like the Little Mermaid could finally get to be the girl who has everything, following the announcement of Disney's new beauty collaboration.
The animated classic's heroine Ariel is the subject of a new beauty collection dubbed "The Little Mermaid: Power Pearl of the Sea," Singapore-based website Zula reports. The series is the result of a collaborative effort from the movie and media giant Disney and the Thai makeup brand UStar Cosmetics.
According to Zula, the new collection spans two foundation compacts, two eye and cheek palettes, two duo lip colors and an eyeliner, each featuring illustrations of Ariel.
The collection, which is set to launch exclusively in Thailand, ties in nicely with the 30th anniversary of the movie, which was first released in 1989. A live action version is reportedly in the pipeline, with filming scheduled to begin next year.
Disney-themed cosmetics have been trending for some time now, with recent examples including a ColourPop ‘Disney Villains' collection that launched last month, following on from the US brand's previous ‘Disney Princess' collection, which launched last September. MAC Cosmetics has also been teasing an upcoming "Aladdin"-themed makeup collection ahead of the live action version of the classic slated for release on May 24, while K-beauty brand Innisfree teamed up with Disney on a "Toy Story"-themed skincare range back in January.
