Little Mix announce they're taking a break after 10 years as a band

After 10 years together as a band, Little Mix have announced they'll be taking a break following their Confetti tour next year. Writing on social media on Thursday evening, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall revealed they were putting pause on the group to pursue other projects, but reassured fans they weren't splitting.

The news follows months of rumours about the girls going their separate ways to focus on solo work, with Leigh-Anne recently making her acting debut in holiday romcom Boxing Day.

"We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix," the trio's statement began. "It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects.

"We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much."

Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jade told fans it doesn't mean the end of the band, adding that there are lots of Little Mix group projects still in the pipeline.

"We are not splitting up - Little Mix are here to stay 💫 We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more."

The statement ended: "We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever ♥️ See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie x."

Leigh-Anne, Perrie, Jade and former bandmate Jesy were the first band to win The X Factor in 2011, a year after One Direction finished in third place.

We're going to miss them as a group, but really can't wait to see all the exciting solo projects they'll be working on.
