Little Rock School District making up snow day on Feb. 16

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Little Rock School District’s schedule for the spring 2024 semester will be seeing a small change next Friday.

In a statement sent out Friday afternoon, LRSD officials said the district will have a regular school day on Feb. 16 in order to meet state requirements for the required number of student instructional hours.

The adjustment comes after school districts across Arkansas were forced to close for several days in January due to severe winter weather.

Feb. 16 was originally intended to be for parent-teacher conferences, which are now rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb 20 after school, according to LRSD.

Officials with LRSD noted that Monday, Feb. 19 will still be a professional development day for teachers and students will not attend that day.

The statement said that although the school hours for middle and high schools will not change, bell schedules may. Parents of students in those schools will receive specific details about bell schedule changes from their child’s school.
