‘Little warriors’: Orlando Health doctors reunite with children whose hearts they’ve healed

In honor of National Heart Month, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children doctors reunited with more than 100 children whose hearts they’ve helped to heal.

At the “Heart Party,” doctors, nurses and the entire medical teams from Arnold Palmer gathered alongside their former and current cardiac patients to reconnect and celebrate.

“We may not see many of these patients again after they’ve been discharged, so at this event, it’s always great to see them thriving and happy. That’s why we do it,” said pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon Kevin Beers. “We just want to come together and show our respect and appreciation for how brave these little warriors are.”

The annual event, which has happened every year for 18 years, returned in person this ear for the first time since the pandemic.
