Brooks Koepka had a big announcement Wednesday.

No, he is not leaving LIV Golf after realizing he still can compete with the best golfers in the world.

Yes, Koepka and his wife, Jena Sims, are expecting their first child.

The couple announced on social media Wednesday that Jena is pregnant. The post included a picture of Brooks and Jena on a beach and Brooks holding ultrasound photos. "happiest birthday, the best is yet to come," it said.

The couple met at the 2015 Masters on the 7th hole of Augusta National. They were married last June.

Koepka, the Palm Beach County native who lives in Jupiter, was runner-up at the Masters last month, finishing T2 with LIV teammate Phil Mickelson, four shots behind champion Jon Rahm. Koepka led by four shots when play was suspended Saturday. He had 30 holes to play. Koepka started the final round with a two-shot lead over Rahm but shot a 75.

Koepka left the PGA Tour about a year ago to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour. At the time, his confidence was shot while in a prolonged slump, mostly due to knee surgery, that had him wondering if he could compete with the best players in the world.

After a falling out of the top 100 in the Official World Golf Rankings this year for the first time in nine years (partly because LIV is not eligible for ranking points) Koepka has rebounded. He says he's feeling as good as he did at his peak, which had him at No. 1 in the world for 47 weeks.

He became LIV Golf's first repeat winner this year in the event outside of Orlando and last week finished third in the LIV tournament in Singapore.

Koepka has won four majors, including the PGA Championship and U.S. Open twice each. He will attempt to add to that number this month at the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.
