Akron-area scoreboard: Hoban tops Walsh; Wadsworth, Hudson, Highland roll; Green falls
All eyes, or most of them, anyway, were on the battle between No. 5 Walsh Jesuit and No. 1 Archbishop Hoban on Friday night. The top-ranked Knights pulled away in the second half for a 32-20 win over the upset-minded Warriors
The unbeaten Knights have now beaten the Warriors three times in the past two seasons.
Knight stalkers:'Violent when they get to the ball:' Nordonia defense impresses in win over Twinsburg
Previously undefeated Nordonia had a tough road game against Wadsworth in the Suburban League National Conference. The Grizzlies jumped on top early and rolled to a 41-14 win over the Knights.

Green gets even with GlenOak
An 11-yard touchdown pass from Robby Klocker to Anthony Manderine draws Bulldogs even with Golden Eagles 27-27 with less than nine minutes to go.
Hoban pulls away
Lamar Sperling scores on a 52-yard run in the fourth quarter and the Knights now lead Walsh Jesuit 32-13.
CVCA holding on
Fairless scores with 3:52 to go but fails on 2-point conversion and the Royals still lead 22-20.
Aurora rallies past Tallmadge
The Greenmen kick a field goal with two minutes to go and defeat the Blue Devils 31-30.
STVM defeats Warren Harding
The Irish score twice in the fourth quarter and defeat Warren Harding 27-12.
Grizzlies cap big win
Wadsworth handed Nordonia its first loss of the season in impressive fashion. The Grizzlies won 41-14.
Tallmadge clinging to lead
Aurora scores with under five minutes to go and cuts the Blue Devils' lead to 30-28.
STVM in battle with Warren Harding
The Irish led 14-6 at the half but the Raiders struck first in the second half and STVM's lead is 14-12
Lamar Sperling again for Hoban
Hoban scores on the first play of the fourth quarter on a 4-yard run by Lamar Sperling, his third TD run of the game, and the Knights lead Walsh Jesuit 26-13
Hoban knocking at the door heading to the fourth quarter
A scoreless third quarter ends with the Knights facing a third-and-1 from the Warriors 4-yard line.
Fairless turns tables on special teams
A blocked field goal returned for a touchdown has cut CVCA's lead to 22-14 in the third quarter.
GlenOak takes lead over Green
The Golden Eagles have turned a 10-0 deficit into a 17-10 lead in the third quarter on the strength of a 26-yard run by Avante Burt.
Wadsworth keeps hammer down
An 8-yard touchdown run by Will Stack, his third TD of game, has started a running clock. The Grizzlies lead previously unbeaten Nordonia 34-0 in the third quarter.
Tallmadge extends lead
A field goal has give the Blue Devils a 30-21 lead in the third quarter.
Wadsworth adds on
Kyle Figuray scores on a 46-yard run and the Grizzlies lead Nordonia 27-0 after the extra point fails.
Copley piles up points in second quarter
Copley turned a 7-0 lead into a 41-0 lead with a 34-point second quarter and will have a running clock in the second half.
Norton, Coventry in a battle
The Panthers score a touchdown in the third quarter and it's 7-7 heading to the fourth.
GlenOak rallies to tie Green at halftime
The Golden Eagles score a second-quarter touchdown and kick a last-minute field goal to make it 10-10 at the half.
Highland smashing Kent Roosevelt
The Hornets lead 42-0 at halftime and will have a running clock to start the second half.
Hudson ahead big at halftime
A 17-point second quarter has put the Explorers in the driver's seat with a 31-0 lead over Brecksville. The second half will begin with a running clock.
Tallmadge takes halftime lead on TD catch by Collin Dixon
A 40-yard touchdown pass from Ty Hurst to Collin Dixon with three seconds to go in the first half gives the Blue Devils a 27-21 lead over Aurora.
Hoban extends lead
Lamar Sperling scores on a short touchdown run and the Knights extend their lead over rival Walsh Jesuit to 20-13 late in the first half. Sperling has two TD runs.
Green extends lead on FG
A 22-yard field goal by Eli Noirot gives the Bulldogs a 10-0 lead over GlenOak in the second quarter.
Wadsworth pulling away
Will Stack's second touchdown run, a 6-yarder, gives the Grizzlies a 21-0 lead over unbeaten Nordonia at halftime.
CVCA leads Fairless in second quarter
The Royals led 7-0 after the first quarter and the teams have traded TDs in the second quarter and the Royals are ahead 14-7. Another touchdown extends CVCA's lead to 22-7.
Copley leads Cuyahoga Falls
Copley scores the only touchdown of the first quarter and leads the Black Tigers 7-0 heading to the second quarter.
Coventry scores first against Norton
The Comets break a scoreless tie and lead the Panthers 7-0 in the second quarter.
Barberton ahead of Revere
The Magics score on a 1-yard run early in the second quarter and add two field goals to lead 13-0 at halftime.

Walsh bounces back
Warriors quarterback Ryan Kerscher scores his second rushing touchdown, this one from 15 yards, but a missed extra point keeps Hoban ahead 14-13.
Tallmadge regains lead over Aurora
A touchdown pass from Ty Hurst to Gino Spano gives the Blue Devils a 13-7 lead in the second quarter.
Hoban doubles up
A 1-yard touchdown run by JacQai Long puts the Knights ahead of Walsh Jesuit 14-7.

Ryan Kerscher puts Walsh ahead of Hoban
A 5-yard touchdown run by quarterback Ryan Kerscher gives the Warriors a 7-0 lead over top-ranked Hoban.
Bombs away for Green
The Bulldogs strike first in their Federal League game against GlenOak with a 63-yard touchdown pass from Robby Klockner to Jarrett Taylor. Green leads 7-0.
