Replay: Austin-area high school football kicks off Week 9 games Friday

Vandegrift's Daemian Wimberly was honored earlier in the week for his standout performance versus Round Rock where he had 15 solo tackles, three assists, three tackles for losses and two sacks. On Thursday, Elgin qualified for the postseason for the first time since 2014 with a win over Pflugerville. The Wildcats were winless in 2021.

Crusaders Dump SA Christian

St. Michael's has given interim head coach Pete Rhoades his first win as the Crusaders built an early lead and coasted to a 34-21 win over SA Christian.

Rhoades took over from Jeff Dicus last week as the native Iowan relinquished the coaching reins.

Manor outlasts Vista Ridge 21-7, while Hutto pounded Copperas Cove 42-3 in 6A play.

In 4A, SA Davenport ran past Lampasas 55-34.

Eagles Hold On to Dump College Station

After racing to a 35-3 halftime lead, Georgetown held on to shock the state's #3 5A DI team, College Station 49-28.

Dripping Springs Rallies to Down Lake Travis

Kade Curry's 12-yard TD run has given Dripping Springs a 38-31 lead over Lake Travis with 14 seconds remaining in the contest.

Westlake has finished its shutout over Austin High as 70-0, while Round Rock dumped McNeil 44-7.

Booras' 4th TD Toss Increases Eagle Lead

Noah Booras has hit Drayden Dickmann for a second scoring pass as Georgetown is still beating College Station 49-24.

Booras has thrown a pair of scoring passes to Westin Bruce while accounting for a 5th score, a QB keeper in the 3rd quarter.

Thorndale's Coy Stutts has scored 5 TDs as Thorndale is dominating Thrall 40-14 in the Williamson County rivalry game.

Killeen Chaparral leads Connally 50-12 in the 4th, while Jarrell is blanking Achieve 60-0 in the 3rd.

Lake Travis has regained the lead over Dripping Springs 31-24 as Nico Hamilton has scored on a 14-yard run with 11 minutes remaining in the tilt.

Lehman Takes Lead

Lehman has taken a 17-14 lead over SA MacArthur, while Bowie is now up on Akins 56-0 in the 3rd quarter.

It doesn't look like a repeat of last year as Thorndale looks to avenge last year's loss to Thrall as the Bulldogs lead the Tigers 34-7 with 4:39 left in the 3rd quarter.

At the end of the third quarter, Georgetown leads College Station 42-24, while Dripping Springs has rallied to take a 24-17 lead over Lake Travis in the 3rd.

T-Wolves Up 11 in 4th

Cedar Park continues to lead Glenn 21-10 early in the 4th quarter, while Lockhart has narrowed Bastrop's lead to 31-21 at the start of the 4th stanza.

Canyon Lake leads Burnet 21-14 in the third quarter.

Hendrickson has rallied to take an 18-10 lead over Leander early in the 4th.

Round Rock is bouncing back from last week's loss to Vandegrift as the Dragons are coasting as they lead McNeil 44-7 late in the 3rd stanza.

Hutto Taking a Bite Out of Copperas Cove

Hutto is up on Copperas Cove 28-3 late in the opening half.

Bastrop leads Lockhart 31-14 in the 34d, while Tivy is beating Cedar Creek 21-10 in the 3rd.

Cedar Park has increased its lead to 21-3 over Glenn in the 3rd stanza, while College Station has scored 14 quick 3rd quarter points as the Cougars has narrowed the Georgetown lead to 35-17, midway in the third quarter.

Rouse Closing the Gap

Waco University is leading Rouse 14-9 late in the third quarter, while Bowie leads Akins 4-0 late in the second quarter.

Lehman is tied with SA MacArthur at 14 at the half.

Lago Vista is pasting Manor New Tech 42-0 at half, while Wimberley is leading Geronimo Navarro 14-7 in the second quarter.

Hunter Rioux's career-long 49-yard field goal has given Lake Travis a 17-10 lead over Dripping Springs in a 26-6A tilt at Cavalier Stadium.

Westlake is all over Austin High 42-0 with 2:03 left in the opening half, while Bowie is not having any problems as the Dawgs are trouncing Akins 35-0 early in the second quarter.

Taylor leads Marble Falls 21-13 in District 13-4A Division I play. Both schools are looking for their initial district victory.

Georgetown Routing #3 College Station at Half

In what some may consider a shocker, Georgetown has scored TDs on 5 of its 6 possessions as the Eagles are pasting #3 ranked (Texas Football Magazine) College Station.

Noah Booras as thrown for 3 TDs, 2 to Westin Bruce, while Andrew Petter has scored twice on the ground while the Eagles defense has kept the Cougars out of the end zone.

In other 11-5A DI action, Cedar Park is up on Glenn 14-3 at half, while Leander is shutting out Hendrickson 10-0 late in the opening half.

Crockett has raced out to a 35-0 first quarter lead over Eastside as the Cougars are looking to move to 4-1 in 5A District 12 Division 2 contest.

In other southside action, Bowie is shutting out Akins 21-0 in the opening quarter in a 25-6A tussle.

Notre Dame commit Jaden Greathouse has scored is 50th varsity TD as Westlake leads Austin High 21 with 2:57 left in the first.

In a eastern Williamson County matchup, Thorndale leads rival Thrall 7=0 in the first.

St. Michael's Up 15 in Second Stanza

St. Michael's leads San Antonio Christian 21-6 in the second quarter.

Westlake has scored twice in the first 4 minutes as the Chaps are shutting out Austin High 14-0.

In other action, La Grange is shutting out Giddings 14-0, while McCallum and Navarro are all even at 7 in the first quarter.

Nico Hamilton's 48-yard sprint has given Lake Travis an early 7-0 lead over Dripping Springs.

Bruce Finds Paydirt Again

For the second time in the opening quarter, Noah Booras found Westin Bruce alone in the end zone has Georgetown leads College Station 21-3 at the start of the second quarter.

Cougars Take Advantage of Turnover

After College Station intercepted Noah Booras on the Eagle 39, the Cougars' Connor Young, booted a 29-yard field goal to cut the Georgetown lead to 14-3 with less than 3 minutes left in the first quarter.

Round Rock has moved back in front of McNeil 14-7 with 2:23 left in the opening stanza.

Three 25-6A Games Knotted at 7

Each of the 3 25-6A games are tied at 7 in the first quarter.

Vista Ridge has responded to Manor's early score to even the game. McNeil scored to tie Round Rock 7-7, while Westwood and Stony Point are all square.

Manor, Round Rock Take Early Leads

Manor has jumped out to an early 7-0 lead over district unbeaten Vista Ridge.

Round Rock scored first and leads McNeil 7-0 in a battle of Round Rock ISD schools.

After recovering a College Station, Georgetown has scored again as Westin Bruce hauls in a 25-yard scoring pass from Noah Booras. The Eagles lead 14-0 in the first.

Booras to Dickmann Opens Scoring

Georgetown didn't waste any time as Noah Booras hit Drayden Dickmann in stride on an 81-yard bomb as the Eagles needed only one play to take a 7-0 lead over College Station.

Dickmann, a speedster, has committed to continue his football career at Rice.

Thorndale and Thrall Renew Rivalry Tonight

After shocking Thorndale last year in a 42-35 overtime win last year, Thrall will be looking to make it 2 in a row over rival Thorndale in Thorndale.

Thorndale is 6-2, 3-1 in district play, while the Tigers are 2-5, 1-2 in district play.

Elgin on the Prowl

In what must be the feel-good story of the season, Elgin picked up its seventh win of the season against two losses last night as the Wildcats took down Pflugerville 17-14 in District 11-5A Division II play.

Elgin’s, winless last year, lone district loss came at the hands of Belton, 28-6, three weeks ago.

After Rouse’s success the past few years, the Raiders will be looking to get back to the .500 mark for the season as they will face 3-4 Waco University. Rouse and the Waco U are both 2-1 in the district so this game has playoff implications.

LBJ Keeps Scoring Explosion Going

After last night’s 82-0 win over Travis, LBJ (6-2, 5-0) is averaging 77 points in District 12-5A Division II play.

The Jaguars, last year’s 4A Division I runner-up have reeled off 5 wins after a tough 1-2 start in non-district competion.

McCallum, Northeast and Crockett are each 3-1 in district play, while Travis sits at 2-3 after last night’s loss.

Westlake Remains Unbeaten - Seeks 48th in a Row

Fresh off last week’s dominating defensive performance in a 29-10 win over previously unbeaten Dripping Springs, Westlake looks to move its winning streak to 58 games in a row as the Chaps take on 2-5, 2-3 Austin High.

The Chaps’ (7-0, 5-0) defense, led by Oklahoma commit Colton Vasek, forced 5 Tiger turnovers that led to 20 second half points to give Westlake the victory.

Dripping Springs (6-1, 4-1) will look to bounce back but it will be no small feat, as the Tigers take on Lake Travis (4-3, 4-1).

The Cavaliers welcomed Michigan State commit Bo Edmundson back to the lineup after missing the first 5+ games with a back injury.

Bowie (6-1, 4-1) is looking to stay tied with Lake Travis in district action as the Dawgs square off with winless Akins at Burger Stadium.

On Thursday, Anderson dumped Del Valle 38-21.

Vista Ridge Looks to Keep Pace with Vandegrift

A night after Vandegrift dominated Cedar Ridge in a 29-7 tussle to move to 5-0 in district play, Vista Ridge is looking to stay even with the Vipers on top of the District 25-6A standings.

The Rangers, (4-3, 4-0), who face Vandegrift next Friday, are looking to stay unblemished in district play as they take on reeling 4-3, 1-3 Manor. The Mustangs have lost 3 in a row after starting the season 4-0 and desperately need a win to stay in the state playoff chase.

After last week’s 30-22 loss to Vandegrift, Round Rock is looking to get back into the win column as the 6-1, 3-1 Dragons host 2-5, 0-4 McNeil.

The remaining district game, features 4-3, 1-3 Westwood and 3-4, 0-4 Stony Point.

Glenn and Georgetown Looking Towards Playoffs

After suffering its first 11-5A DI district loss last week, a 27-24 double overtime thriller, to state-ranked College Station, Glenn is looking to bounce back as the 5-2, 3-1 Grizzlies tackle perennial power Cedar Park at Bible Stadium.

The Timberwolves (2-5, 2-2) are looking for their second consecutive in a row after dumping Hendrickson 24-7 at The Pfield last Friday.

Georgetown, winners of 3 consecutive district tilts, in which they have averaged 66+ points a game, hosts College Station (6-1, 4-0) at Birkelbach Field.

The district’s co-leader, A&M Consolidated (6-1, 4-0) hosts East View. The Patriots are seeking their first win for Coach Mike Wall season after an 0-7, 0-4 start to the season.

Leander is looking to end its 4-game losing skid, after starting its season 3-0 in non-district action as the Lions travel to The Pfield to tackle 1-6, 0-4 Hendrickson.

Texans Seek Sole Possession at Top of District

In a battle of district unbeatens, Wimberley looks to cement its place on the top of the District 13 4A DII as the 7-0, 2-0 Texans tussle with Geronimo Navarro ((4-3. 2-0) at Texan Stadium tonight.

The Texans, who are averaging almost 40 points a contest, shut out the Panthers 27-0 last season.

In other district action, Manor New Tech (4-3, 1-1) looks to continue its march towards a playoff berth taking on 2021 Class 3A Division I state quarterfinalist Lago Vista. The Vikings are 5-2, 1-1 in district play after moving up a class.

Austin Achieve (2-5, 0-2) is travelling up I-35 seeking its first district win taking on 2-5, 0-2, Jarrell.
