More than 1000 NFL players will lose their jobs over a 72-hour period early this week, as NFL teams must cut their rosters from 90 to 53 by Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline.

Here’s our live blog on the Dolphins’ cuts, as they’re learned. (We’ll add updates to the top.)

4:15 p.m.: The Dolphins cut two talented undrafted edge players - Mitchell Agude and Garrett Nelson - on Monday.

They also released defensive end Randy Charlton, safety Keidron Smith, quarterback James Blackman, offensive offense tackle James Tunstall, receiver Keke Coutee and linebacker A.J. Johnson, who was signed on Friday.

The Dolphins also announced all of the cuts reported below except Malik Reed; ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported he’s being cut, but the Dolphins made no mention of him in their roster cut announcement.

If Reed is included in the cuts, then the Dolphins ended Monday afternoon with 75 players under contract. They’ll need to get to 53 by 4 p.m. Tuesday.

3:20 p.m.: The Dolphins released Jamal Woods, the undrafted rookie defensive tackle from Illinois. Woods signed a two-year deal last week. Miami will consider him for its practice squad.

2:35 p.m.: The Dolphins cut defensive tackle Josiah Bronson, according to a source. He had several good moments in camp. But Brandon Pili appears to be ahead of Bronson in the team’s view.

2:30 p.m.: Per a source, the Dolphins released receiver Chris Coleman, the undrafted rookie from Cal Poly. Coleman flashed during the first two weeks of camp, and Miami would like to keep him on the practice squad.

2:25 p.m.: Per a source, the Dolphins released Aubrey Miller, the undrafted rookie linebacker from Jackson State. Miller impressed the team with his physicality, linebackers coach Anthony Campanile said last week.

But this was a numbers game, with Jerome Baker, David Long Jr., Duke Riley, inside/outside backer Andrew Van Ginkel and potentially Channing Tindall ahead of him. The practice squad is a possibility for Miller.

The Dolphins signed veteran linebacker AJ Johnson last week, but his fate is unknown.

2:20 p.m.: The Dolphins released veteran offensive tackle Geron Christian, a source said. Christian has appeared in 48 games and started 16 (for Washington, Houston and Kansas City), but he never gained traction in his bid for a Dolphins roster spot.

2:15 p.m.: The Dolphins released veteran linebacker Malik Reed, ESPN reported. Reid played for Dolphins defensive coordinator Vic Fangio in Denver and has 16 sacks in four seasons for the Broncos and Pittsburgh.

But Reed was challenged in camp by several impressive rookie edge players, including Garrett Nelson and Mitchell Agude.

2 p.m.: The Dolphins released defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman, the third-year player from Pittsburgh.
