It's not the quarterback matchup anyone anticipated just a couple of weeks ago. However, Sam Ehlinger is the Indianapolis Colts quarterback and Taylor Heinicke is the Washington Commanders quarterback in NFL Week 8 action.
The Colts (3-3-1) try to bounce back from a loss to the Tennessee Titans. The Commanders (3-4) are seeking their third consecutive victory.
Joel A. Erickson, Nate Atkins, Akeem Glaspie and Gregg Doyel will have analysis from Lucas Oil Stadium. We'll have updates and highlights, so please remember to refresh.

The Colts lose 17-16 to the Commanders to fall to 3-4-1. A true game of inches, and the big plays just all went Washington's way in the end.

Colts lose to Washington, a game they should've won ... but young QB Sam Ehlinger looks like the real deal. Going to be a hard tone to get right, but here I go #columncoming

Sam Ehlinger tries to dive for a first down, but comes up just short. The Colts lose a challenge (and a timeout), punt and Washington takes over at its 11. Punter Matt Haack, who struggled in Week 7, has been much improved.
What a comeback by Matt Haack. That was a very witch-like punt from Haack.
— Joel A. Erickson (@JoelAErickson) October 30, 2022
Really good spot by the refs on that one. Tough break to come up just short of the first down. Looks like the Colts defense will have to put the clamps on this one.

Chase McLaughlin hits from 20 yards after the drive stalls. Sam Ehlinger is 14-of-19 for 190 yards. Colts 9, Commanders 7
