Utah 20, Baylor 13
The game came down to the final play as Baylor couldn’t connect for a touchdown from 22 yards and Utah escaped with the 20-13 comeback victory.
Fourth quarter
Utah 20, Baylor 13:
0:17 — After a Cole Bishop near field goal range, Utah went 29 yards in six plays to take the lead late, capped by an 11-yard touchdown run from Jaylon Glover.
2:00 — Mostly behind third-string quarterback Nate Johnson, Utah had by far its most productive drive of the day, a 15 play, 88-yard march down the field punctuated by a 7-yard run from Johnson to tie things up.
4:05 — Utah’s defense got an interception as Zemaiah Vaughn picked off a pass to give the offense good field position, but the Utes couldn’t do much with it and had to settle for a 46-yard field goal from Cole Becker.
Baylor 13, Utah 3:
11:00— The Bears put together another methodical drive, although the Utah defense buckled down in the red zone to limit Baylor to a 24-yard field goal from Isaiah Hankins.
Second quarter
Baylor 10, Utah 3:
3:23 — The Bears put together a methodical 11 play, 79-yard drive capped by a 4-yard run from quarterback Sawyer Robertson for the first touchdown of the game.
9:04 — Keyed by a 44-yard run from Ja’Quinden Jackson and a 22-yard pass from Nate Johnson to Devaughn Vele, Utah got to the 10 yard-line but a holding penalty backed the Utes up and they ultimately had to settle for a 31-yard field goal from Cole Becker to tie the game.
Baylor 3, Utah 0:
13:03— After Utah quarterback Bryson Barnes threw an interception, Baylor had great field position but only got a 34-yard field goal from Isaiah Hankins out of it, thanks in large part to multiple false start penalties on offensive linemen.
The first quarter ended without a score as the defenses mostly ruled the action. Baylor had a bit more offensive success as the quarter wore on and is outgaining Utah 57-43
There haven't been many punters drafted in the fourth round or higher like Tory Taylor just was. Chicago's No. 1 overall pick welcomed him in unique fashion.
The NFL will allow players to wear protective Guardian Caps during games beginning with the 2024 season. The caps were previously mandated for practices.
Atlanta Falcons first-round draft pick Michael Penix Jr. said quarterback Kirk Cousins called him after he was picked No. 8 overall in one of the 2024 NFL Draft's more puzzling selections.
Tyrese Haliburton hit a floater with 1.1 seconds left in overtime to give the Indiana Pacers a 121–118 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. The Pacers lead their first-round playoff series two games to one.
