Tonight: Life in 24 Frames, Autumn Sky Hall and Kelly Reilly on The Bee’s Band Together

Another week of The Sacramento’s Bee free Band Together concert series brings us three artists with strong Sacramento roots.

The show starts at 6 p.m. Friday.

First we’ve got Life in 24 Frames, a band that’s been a pretty steady presence on the local music scene. They’ve opened for Royal Blood, Band of Horses, Dredg and Cage the Elephant, and were on the bill at the 2013 Launch Festival in Sacramento alongside Imagine Dragons and Minus the Bear.

Their most recent album, CTRL+Z, was released in March 2017 by Gold Standard Records. Their next album, RedivideR, is complete.

Led by Kris Adams on vocals and guitar, Jason Brown on bass and keys, Joey Strouth on drums, and Tony Caldron on guitar, Life in 24 Frames describes their music this way: “The band sounds like a comfortable blend of Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ and the Beach Boys’ ‘Smile’ records while effortlessly sprinkling in influences from modern indie rock contemporaries such as My Morning Jacket and Local Natives.”

Find out more about Life in 24 Frames on their band website.

Autumn Sky Hall will join us, as well. She’s been a well-known fixture on the local music scene for several years who has been honored multiple times by the Sacramento News and Review’s Sacramento Area Music Awards.

Hall has a long of list of legendary artists among her influences: Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Cat Stevens, Bruce Springsteen and the Zombies, among others. Her music and more about her musical journey can be found on her bandcamp site.

Also on the bill is Kelly Reilly. He’s a 22-year-old Sacramento native who went to Jesuit High School and is finishing up his senior year at St. Mary’s College. He started writing music when he was 15, and draws inspiration from John Mayer, Ziggy Alberts, Hippo Campus and Mt. Joy.

You can listen to Reilly’s music on major streaming services, including on Spotify. He hopes to get into the studio this summer to work on a debut album.

This week’s concert doesn’t have a local venue as a sponsor. So instead, we ask that you directly support Life in 24 Frames and Kelly Reilly.

There are a couple of other causes we’d like to support, as well.

One is the Library of MusicLandria, a free musical instrument library in Land Park. Go to https://musiclandria.com to donate.

The other is Girls Rock Sacramento, which “helps those who identify as girls or gender-expansive youth build self esteem through music education and performance, collaboration, empowerment, a supportive community of peers and mentors, and the development of leadership skills.” Go to http://www.girlsrocksacramento.com/donate to support this program.

Thanks, as always, for your support and for tuning in.
