The Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald, Brothers Osborne and Matchbox Twenty are among the acts set to perform at the Live at the Garden concert series.

On Wednesday night, the Memphis Botanic Garden announced plans for the 2023 edition of its annual summer concert program. The five shows will take place at the Garden’s Radians Amphitheater and run from June to September.

Here's the lineup:

  • The series will launch June 3 with a performance by country vocal group Lady A.

  • Rock hitmakers Matchbox Twenty will appear on June 24.

  • Academy of Country Music's Duo of the Year Brothers Osborne will take the stage on July 14.

  • Classic rock greats The Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald will play on Aug. 25.

  • The shows will conclude Sept. 8 with a performance by Train.

Matchbox Twenty will appear as part of the 2023 Live at the Garden series.

“Summers in Memphis wouldn't be the same without Live at the Garden" said Sherry May, co-director of the series, in a statement. "We have a lot of great music planned, including a couple of newcomers to Live at the Garden, as well as some all-time fan favorites."

Brothers Osborne will be making their series debut, as will Matchbox Twenty — though the group's lead singer, Rob Thomas, has appeared as a solo act. Train has played the series previously. Meanwhile, Lady A was originally scheduled for the 2022 edition, but canceled their summer tour plans due to personal reasons and did not perform.

The Doobie Brothers were also scheduled to perform as part of Live the Garden last year, but the show was canceled due to bad weather. (This was the second time the Doobies had to scrap a Memphis show in recent years, after their 2020 FedExForum date was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.)
