Indiana basketball is a No. 4 seed in the Midwest Region of the 2023 NCAA Tournament and meets No. 13 Kent State in the first round.
The Hoosiers (22-11) tied for second in the Big Ten basketball standings and lost to Penn State in the conference tournament semifinals. First-team All-American Trayce Jackson-Davis is IU's career rebounding and blocked shots leader, and he stands third in scoring. Point guard Jalen Hood-Schifino is the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
Kent State (28-6) won the Mid-American Conference tournament behind a smothering defense. Opponents shoot 40.3% from the field and 31% on 3-pointers, and the Golden Flashes get 8.9 steals per game. Sincere Carry averages 17.6 points and 4.9 assists per game, Malique Jacobs adds 13.0 points and 5.0 rebounds, and Miryne Thomas 10.7 points and 5.5 rebounds.

Strong close the half by Indiana. Hoosiers were able to weather a Kent State run. Kind of an ugly half in many ways. Indiana needs to clean things up on the defensive glass. #iubb
