LIVE: Indiana basketball defeats Maryland in Big Ten tournament

The Indiana Hoosiers meet Maryland in Big Ten tournament quarterfinals action at the United Center in Chicago.

Indiana basketball (21-10, 12-8) is the No. 3 seed in the tournament, led by Hoosiers record-holder Trayce Jackson-Davis and Big Ten Freshman of the Year Jalen Hood-Schifino. No. 6 Maryland became the first team in this tournament to win as a better seed when it held off No. 14 Minnesota. Jahmir Young, Donta Scott and Julian Reese lead the Terrapins.

Maryland defeated IU 66-55 on Jan. 31 in their only meeting in the regular season.

The winner of this game gets Penn State in the semifinals. The Nittany Lions beat Northwestern 67-65 in overtime.

Trayce Jackson-Davis has 24 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocked shots. Jalen Hood-Schifino backs him with 19 points and 6 rebounds, and Malik Reneau adds 8 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.

IU is just 4-of-10 from 3-point range but is over 50% in overall shooting.

Maryland's Hakim Hart has 16 points, Jahmir Young 12, Don Carey 11 and Donta Scott 10. The Terrapins make just 3 3-pointers in the second half and finish below 35% from the field.

IU throws it away against Maryland's full-court press on two straight plays out of the timeout.
