Classic Albums Live: The Beatles’ ‘Let it Be’

Father’s Day Eve Concert and Fireworks

This event will be held at the Ocala-Marion County Veterans Memorial Park at 5 p.m. June 17. Food and live music. Cost is $20 for people ages 18 and older; those 17 and younger will be admitted free. This art exhibit from Tony Blue will be up June 21 through Jan. 9 at the Ocala International Airport, 1770 SW 60th Ave., Suite 600, Ocala. This show “explores Blue’s expressionist, abstract paintings,” which are “inspired by Florida’s tropical natural landscape,” the city says in a news release. The exhibit is free and open to the public. ‘The Unscene South’

This exhibit will be up at the Appleton Museum of Art July 1-Jan. 28. “A little-known population of Blacks lived free in the United States, long before Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation ended slavery,” the museum says on its website. “Through Charles Eady’s paintings, ‘The Unscene South’ shares evidence and details of their existence, and presents opportunities to view the realities of their daily lives, seeking to eliminate many misconceptions about Blacks and the South.”

‘The Beauty of Nature and Recyclable Refuse’

This art exhibit from Albert Bevilacqua is up through Jan. 8 at the City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Administration building, 828 NE Eighth Ave., and Eighth Avenue Adult Activity Center, 830 NE Eighth Ave. The building are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free exhibit is open to the public.

“Albert Bevilacqua lives and works in Boca Raton, Florida. Bevilacqua is passionate about protecting the environment and keeping preserved natural habitats free from human litter,” the city said in a news release. “He sponsors and volunteers at many beach, park, and nature preserve clean-up events where he keeps the collected waste and turns it into art. ‘The Beauty of Nature and Recyclable Refuse’ showcases Bevilacqua’s two-dimensional artworks made from these collected recycled materials.”

‘Patternz’

This art exhibit from Kelsey Mahoney is up through Dec. 12 at Ocala City Hall, 110 SE Watula Ave. This exhibit is free and open to the public. City Hall is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. RETRO/NEW | David D’Alessandris, ‘50 Years in the Life of an Artist’

This art exhibit is up through July 8 at The Brick City Center for the Arts, 23 SW Broadway St., Ocala. The center is open Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Free admission.

‘Gross Out’

The Discovery Center’s newest exhibit is up through Aug. 26. The center, 701 NE Sanchez Ave., Ocala, is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

“Science can be fun, but also gross,” the City of Ocala said in a news release. “This new exhibit will address some of the grossest science subjects, such as what blood is made of, how loud a burp is and the identification of animals by their waste. Visitors will explore the world of creepy crawlies, gross smells and stinky science.”

Summer Spotlight XXVI

The Visual Artists’ Society presents this show, “which showcases the work of local and regional artists in a wide variety of mediums,” according to organizers. It is up at the College of Central Florida Webber Gallery through July 20. The gallery is located at the CF Ocala campus, 3001 SW College Road. The gallery is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday.
