There’s plenty to do in the Galesburg area with Easter egg hunts, music, shopping and more.
PPCT Performs: Steel Magnolias
What: Written by Robert Harling, Steel Magnolias is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done.
When: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday

Thursday Night Jazz with Cherry St. Combo
What: The Cherry St. Combo is the premier jazz combo at Knox College and has hosted jazz every Thursday night in Galesburg for nearly 30 years.
When: 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, March 30

Family Easter Egg Hunt
What: The egg hunt is for children ages 5 and under with crafts and open play afterward. Baskets will be provided. Each child will receive a gift bag in exchange for eggs at the end of the hunt. Big prizes such as play passes, punch cards and party discounts hidden in eggs.
When: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday
Where: The Play Yard, 705 S. Broad St., Knoxville
Cost: $15/child; $7/child for members; free for adults. Limit two adults per child. Age one and younger are free. Please pre-register; spots are limited.
Print Making
What: Meet Nikki Ponce, the art instructor at Sandburg, who will introduce you to the fascinating art of Print Making.
When: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday and the first Saturday of each month.
Where: Sandburg Art Studio, Carl Sandburg College, 2400 Tom L. Wilson Blvd., Galesburg
Cost: $20 per class.

Doggie Easter Egg Hunt
What: Three hunts separated by dog size; take photo with the Easter Bunny. Make a photo button for $10.
When: 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday
Where: Connie Nott Dog Park, 1285 W. Carl Sandburg Drive, Galesburg
Cost: Free to attend; $5 per dog. Must show current rabies form to participate and sign waiver.

Women’s Market
What: Find good deals and have fun at the Women’s Market. There will be multiple tables to shop for items including clothes, shoes, jewelry and more. Plus, there will be food and a 360 photo booth. Vendor table available; call Gogo at 309-299-4481.
When: 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday
Where: Galesburg Selfie Museum, 149 N. Broad St., Galesburg
Big Read Kick-off: Stir Friday Night
What: Come kick off the 2023 NEA Big Read with an improv performance by Stir Friday Night, Chicago’s longest-running Asian American comedy team. They will perform their newest show, the Improvised Martial Art Movie, a completely improvised fight choreography experience. Alumni of Stir Friday Night include Danny Pudi from Community, Steven Yeun from The Walking Dead and Mary Sohn from AP Bio. The event is PG-13 and geared towards adults. This event is part of Galesburg Public Library’s NEA Big Read of Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu. Free copies of Interior Chinatown will be available at the event.
When: Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday
Where: The Orpheum Theatre, 57 S. Kellogg St., Galesburg
Cost: Free
Egg Hunt
What: Family-friendly event features 10,000 candy-filled eggs, a series of grand prizes and the Easter Bunny available for photos. Egg hunts will be divided by age groups. Recreation’s mobile playground will be there and HyVee will be catering a hot dog lunch special.
When: 12 to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2

Lojo Russo concert
What: The Songbag Concert series continues with Lojo Russo. Using her raw energy, Lojo Russo moves from sweet folk to roots rock without missing a beat. On stage, she combines her sense of music with her sense of humor. The first set starts at 2 p.m.; the second set starts at 3:15 p.m. Refreshments available between sets.
When: 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday

Spring Break SpongeBob Day
What: A fun-filled day for children in k-5th grade to enjoy SpongeBob SquarePants activities. Parents can stay to watch or wait in lobby.
