Live music returning to amphitheater in Virginia Beach with special $20 ticket deal

Live music at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach is making a comeback this summer with $20 tickets as part of its “Return to Live” series. Sales start next week.

Live Nation said in a news release Thursday morning that the $20 tickets to participating shows are “all-in,” so there are no extra fees. T-Mobile and Sprint customers will get a 24-hour head start at noon on July 27 through T-Mobile Tuesdays, and the general public can snag some from noon July 28 to Aug. 1.

Attendees will need a ticket for each show, said a Live Nation spokeswoman in an email Thursday morning. The majority of the shows are offering lawn tickets, but there are a few that are pavilion only, meaning no lawn tickets will be available.

To get this offer, music lovers must buy the tickets online.

The last show at the amphitheater was Chris Stapleton on October 18, 2019. There were no shows in 2020.

Live Nation’s lineup over the next few months seems to have something for everyone — country, hip hop, Latin, metal, pop, rock and more.

Local shows include:

  • Aug. 5 — Jason Aldean with Hardy, Lainey Wilson and DEE JAY SILVER

  • Aug. 25 — Alanis Morissette with Garbage and Liz Phair

  • Aug. 29 — Brad Paisley with Jimmie Allen and Kameron Marlowe

  • Aug. 31 — Pitbull with Iggy Azalea

  • Sept. 2 — 311 with Iration (no lawn tickets available; pavilion-only show)

  • Sept. 9 — Judas Priest with special guest (no lawn tickets available; pavilion-only show)

  • Sept. 16 — Dierks Bentley with Riley Green and Parker McCollum and DJ AYDAMN

  • Sept. 17 — Outlaw Festival starring Willie Nelson, Sturgill Simpson, Gov’t Mule and Margo Price

  • Oct. 2 — Rebelution with Steel Pulse (no lawn tickets available; pavilion-only show)

  • Oct. 7 — Florida Georgia Line with Russell Dickerson, Lauren Alaina and Redferrin

  • Oct. 9 — Jonas Brothers with Kelsea Ballerini

“We can’t wait to get back on the road and in front of our fans, it means so much to be able to bring live music back to the people that support us the most,” said the Jonas Brothers in the release.

The entertainment company also included a clause for concert-goers concerned about safety, noting that The Clorox Company is the company’s official cleaning and disinfecting products partner.

Each Live Nation venue will have Clorox products and electrostatic disinfecting devices.
