The Hermitage Museum & Gardens’ winter concert series, “Live from the Music Room,” begins this Friday, and tickets for the intimate gatherings are on sale.

The lineup features three acts new to the Norfolk museum:

  • Friday: Torrin Purkett. The music producer, pianist and organist dabbles in jazz, gospel, blues, house, cinematic, improvisational and soulful music.

  • Feb. 10: The Governor’s School for the Arts Quartet. An evening of jazz.

  • April 14: Dapzam. The band specializes in experimental indie pop.

Shows are limited to around 40 people.

“Being able to sit in the historic room and experience it as a collective group but to also have your own unique experience within yourself is really special and something that doesn’t happen too much anymore,” said Andrew Cronin, The Hermitage’s public programs manager.

Doors open for each performance at 6:15 p.m. Music will begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for museum members; $25 for non-members. Drinks can be purchased at the bar.
