Local favorite Christian Porter will take the small stage at the Warrior at 7 p.m. Friday.

Stroudsburg native Porter is known for his appearance on Season 4 of NBC's The Voice, joining Blake Shelton's team. Porter has also collaborated with other local musicians from the Poconos such as Regina Sayles (as Porter & Sayles), and more recently: Nyke Van Wyck.

Porter's latest single, Ball + Chain, is available now on Spotify and iTunes.

Celebrate a new year on the mountain

Shawnee is the place to be this weekend.

Head to Shawnee Mountain Ski Area, 401 Hollow Road, Shawnee on Delaware, on Sunday for "It's 2022! Let's Celebrate!"

Congregation B'Nai Harim will present the Zoom webinar, "Sally on Storytelling" at 7 p.m., Feb. 10.

Sally Wiener Grotta is an award-winning writer and photographer whose numerous books include "The Winter Boy" (a Locus Magazine Recommended Read) and "Jo Joe" (a Jewish Book Council Network Book). As a journalist, she has traveled on assignment throughout the world. Her hundreds of stories and essays have appeared

in scores of publications. Her soon-to-be published "Daughters of Eve" (Bayit Publishing, 2022) mines the tales of biblical Matriarchs to explore modern lives, concerns and crises.

Her fine art photography project "American Hands" has received more than three dozen grants, and the exhibits have been seen by over a quarter million people. Learn more about Grotta at SallyWienerGrotta.com.
