LIVE: No. 3 Purdue suffers consecutive losses for first time this season
No. 3 Purdue basketball visits Maryland for what promises to be a tough Big Ten matchup.
The Boilermakers (23-3, 12-3) maintain a comfortable lead in the conference standings but have lost two of their past three games. The Terrapins (17-8, 8-6) are fighting for a top-4 spot in the standings, which would bring a double bye in next month's Big Ten tournament. Maryland is undefeated in Big Ten home games.
Purdue edged Maryland 58-55 in a Jan. 22 game in West Lafayette. ESPN's matchup predictor gives the Terrapins a 50.3% chance of winning tonight.
Sam King and Gregg Doyel will have updates from the game, and we will have highlights. Please remember to refresh.

Eight road losses for Purdue in last two years. Seven times, had court stormed. Today at Maryland was different though. I'll write about that, and the game, and the crowd, and I'll be emotional because it's what I do. Better or worse.#columncoming

Bad foul there by Purdue's Zach Edey, reaching for offensive rebound after missing from up close, his second foul the half. Took him 27 games to get that sort of silly cheap frustration foul. Pretty good for a 7-4 guy.

Purdue has top 'glue guys'
I can't pretend to understand the analytics of intangibles, but it's easy to see that Caleb Furst and Braden Smith offer Purdue more than (name of stat) per game. These two, along with Zach Edey, Fletcher Loyer and Ethan Morton, are scheduled to start, as usual.
