Live Results: Michigan votes in congressional and state elections

  • Polls closed in the state at 8 p.m. local time. Given the state has multiple timezones, the first polls closed at 8 p.m. EST and the last polls close at 9 p.m. EST.

Michigan is one of the most consequential states in this midterm election, with the state's 13 congressional seats up for election. Four of them — races in the 3rd District, 7th District, 8th District and 10th District — will have national implications given their competitive nature and the broader nationwide contest for control of the House of Representatives.

Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is up for re-election in a race that has significant implications for abortion access in the state. Voters will also vote on Proposal 22-3, which would enshrine the right to an abortion in the state's constitution and Proposal 2, which would enshrine certain rights about voting in the constitution, as well.
