The Florida State baseball team is in the NCAA Tournament for a record-tying 44th straight time.
Now we'll see what the Seminoles can do in the Auburn Regional.
FSU (33-23, 15-15 in ACC) faces UCLA (38-22, 19-11 in Pac-12) to open their NCAA run. The winner faces the winner of tonight's game between national No. 14 Auburn (37-19, 16-13 in SEC) and Southeastern Louisiana (30-29, 14-10 in Southland).
FSU will advance to the Super Regional as long as they avoid two losses over the weekend.
The Seminoles made the tournament thanks in large part to a strong strength of schedule. FSU is led by pitcher Parker Messick, whose 140 strikeouts are tied for third in the nation.
The Bruins made a deep run in the Pac-12 Tournament, including an incredible 25-22 win over Oregon State. UCLA scored nine runs in the ninth inning to force extra innings, where they won on a walkoff home run by Tommy Beres. UCLA was eliminated that night though after the Beavers hit a walkoff of their own.
