Louisville loses to Syracuse football in season opener: Updates, video highlights
The new season is here!
After a 6-7 overall record last season (4-4 in the ACC), the Louisville football team hopes to begin 2022 with a victory against Syracuse (5-7, 2-6).
The Cards have gone two straight seasons with a losing record, but head coach Scott Satterfield hopes to turn things around in his fourth season. That could certainly happen with one of the conference's best quarterbacks in Malik Cunningham.
Going into its matchup with Syracuse, Louisville is a 5.5-point favorite. Prior to this game, the two schools have only played each other in September on three occasions. The last time they met, Lamar Jackson led Louisville to a 62-24 triumph over the Orange.
Louisville’s other September win over the Orange was 30-20 on Sept. 13, 2003 on the road, while Syracuse beat the Cardinals 38-35 on Sept. 22, 2007 in Louisville.
The Courier Journal U of L beat writer @Alexis_Cubit will have complete in-game and postgame coverage of the game. In the meantime, you can follow along with all the in-game developments right here.
