Live score updates: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys in NFL playoffs wild-card game
It's a Monday Night Football showdown, NFL playoffs edition. And this prime-time matchup is one with plenty of buzz: Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys (12-5) were hoping to earn the NFC's No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in last week's regular-season finale. But after Dak Prescott and Dallas' vaunted offense flopped in a 26-6 loss to the Washington Commanders, they will hit the road against a team with a losing record.
The Bucs (8-9) are the only other team to keep Ceedee Lamb, Tony Pollard, Ezekiel Elliott and co. to single digits this season, beating Dallas 19-3 in the season opener. Tampa's offense wasn't much to write home about either: Their only touchdown came on a Brady pass to Mike Evans late in the third quarter, and the seven-time Super Bowl champion threw for just 212 yards to start what's been an underwhelming year for the GOAT.
Despite finishing four games worse in the regular season, a few pieces of history show promise for the Bucs: Teams with losing records are 2-1 in their playoff openers since 2010, and the Cowboys haven't won a road playoff game since 1993.
