Live stream: U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree lighting

A sure sign of the holidays in Washington is here: the lighting of the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree.

Each year, a different national forest is chosen to provide a tree.

This year's tree is an 80-foot-tall Noble fir from the Willamette National Forest in Oregon.

It traveled some 3,000 miles over three weeks before arriving on the Capitol's West Lawn.

You can watch the Capitol Christmas Tree lighting live in the player above at 5 p.m. ET. Thursday.
