Live in Terrebonne and looking for a Pre-K program? Ready Start Terrebonne wants to help

A coalition of early childhood development leaders is holding gatherings to get Terrebonne children signed up for educational programs.

Ready Start Terrebonne is a coalition of early childhood education providers formed in the wake of Hurricane Ida, during the 2021-2022 school year, that seeks to prepare kids for Pre-K and inform parents about early childhood development options. It is composed of public Pre-K, Head Start and Type 3 licensed child care organizations.

"Families can reach out to us if they are looking for a child care or if the one they chose is full, instead of having to call 15 places to see who has an opening," Ready Start Facilitator Gracie Detiveaux said. "That's really what it's about, making it easier for families, preparing children, you know, for kindergarten, to help close those learning gaps."
