Live updates: Auburn football's 2023 A-Day spring game

AUBURN — The first spring of the coach Hugh Freeze era at Auburn football will soon be finished.

The Tigers, who have completed 14 practices this spring, are set to play their annual A-Day game Saturday. With a new coach comes a new format: the game will begin with the defense ahead 24-0. There will be a 60-minute running clock with no quarters and it'll be the offense's job to catch up and surpass that score before the time expires.

Freeze quipped Monday that the winning team will get a steak dinner, while the losers will have to settle for hot dogs. Victories in spring games don't matter in the long run, but there should still be some takeaways about Auburn's team once the clock hits zero.
