One long losing streak is over and there's another at which to take aim.

Cade York's game-winning 58-yard field goal ended a long opening-day losing streak for the Browns and put the anticipation of playing against former quarterback Baker Mayfield in the rear-view mirror.

The next game provides the Browns an opportunity to end a losing streak in home openers but they won't have the extra incentive of Mayfield on Sunday against the New York Jets at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The motivation will be to be 2-0 after two games, another goal that has been more than elusive for the Browns since their return to Cleveland in 1999.

The Browns won the first game started by quarterback Jacoby Brissett but they controlled the game with a powerful ground game, led by Nick Chubb.

Jets intercept Jacoby Brissett with six seconds left

In an attempt to get into field goal range for Cade York, Browns quarterback Jacoby Brissett hoped to find wide receiver Amari Cooper. Instead, he was intercepted by Jets defensive back Ashtyn Davis seal the game.

Jets take a 31-30 lead

The Browns gave up a 13-point lead in less than two minutes as the Jets take the lead on a 15-yard pass from Joe Flacco to wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

So, about that lack of miscommunication for the Browns

Lack of communication (probably) bites the Browns defensive backfield once again as the Jets score on 66-yard TD pass from Joe Flacco to Corey Davis. The Jets recover the ensuing onsides kick.

Chunt provides some breathing room

Running backs Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb combined to put the Jets away with 1:55 left in the game. Their efforts, capped by a 12-yard TD run by Chubb, accounted for all 42 yards on that six play drive. Cade York misses the extra point. The Browns lead 30-17.

Browns QB Jacoby Brissett appears to be injured

Brissett, sacked on a third down pass attempt, limped off the field and was seen pounding the bench. He eventually jogs back out with 2:30 left in the game.

Nick Chubb delivers the Browns a TD

Browns running back Nick Chubb scores on a 7-yard Nick Chubb run to cap a 9-play, 75-yard drive. Chubb accounted for 41 yards on the drive. The Browns lead 24-17 with 9:21 left in the game.

Browns, Jets tied at 17

The Jets drive nine plays and 51 yards for kicker Greg Zuerlein to nail a 57-yard field goal to tie the game. Judging from the calm in FirstEnergy Stadium, this isn't what the crowd was expecting. There is 14:19 left.

Browns go ahead on Cade York field goal

The Browns take the second half's opening kick off and scores on a 22-yard Cade York field goal as they march 75 yards on 11 plays to take a 17-14 lead.

Browns vs Jets score tied at halftime, 14-14

The Browns let running back Breece Hall run wide open in the last seconds of the first half and he scampered for a 10-yard touchdown reception.

That ties the game between the Browns and Jets at 14-14 after two quarter.

Browns quarterback Jacoby Brissett has just one incomplete pass in the first half, going 12 for 13 for 101 yards and a touchdown pass to Amari Cooper. Nick Chubb leads the Browns in rushing with 30 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. Cooper leads the Browns with four catches in the first half for 48 yards on four targets.

Flacco is completed 10 of 16 passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. Hall had 46 total yards and seven touches.

Watch Jadeveon Clowney's strip sack against the Jets' Joe Flacco

The Jets are starting rookie Max Mitchell at right tackle, and Browns veteran Jadeveon Clowney made them pay for it. Lined up next to Myles Garrett on the defensive line, Clowney beat Mitchell to the edge and stripped the ball out of quarterback Joe Flacco's hand. Clowney recovered the fumble, and was credited for a sack on the play. Words really can't do this one justice:
