Live updates: Eddie George, Tennessee State football spring game

Tennessee State football coach Eddie George installed a no-huddle, up-tempo offense for the Tigers this spring.

On Saturday George will get to see the new unit live in TSU's annual spring blue and white game at Hale Stadium.

The game will begin at 3 p.m. and admission is free.

An alumni flag football game will be played at 2 p.m.

Auburn transfer quarterback Chayil Garnett, who started the last game of the 2021 season against Mississippi State, will run the first team offense. Edwin Rhodes III, a sophomore from Miami, Florida, will be with the second team quarterback.

Running back Devon Starling from Cane Ridge, who has led the Tigers in rushing the last two seasons, won't play. He is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.

That means Jalen Rouse, who backed up Starling last season, and Tre Boone III will get the bulk of the action in the backfield.
