11:40 p.m. | FSU drops second straight game to NC State

What a heartbreaker.

Florida State (4-2, 2-2 ACC) fell 19-17 to NC State (5-1, 1-1) at Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday.

The Seminoles were in field goal range with less than a minute remaining before quarterback Jordan Travis threw an interception.

10:45 p.m. | FSU enters fourth quarter with narrow lead

Devin Leary might be out for the rest of the game.

The NC State quarterback headed to locker room after suffering an injury on a hit from FSU defensive tackle Joshua Farmer late in the third quarter. Backup quarterback Jack Chambers replaced him.

Leary has completed 10 of 21 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown with an interception. His touchdown came on an 11-yard pass to wide receiver Daryl Jones with 9:49 left in the third quarter.

The Wolfpack also added a 40-yard field goal from kicker Christopher Dunn, cutting the deficit to 17-13 heading into the fourth quarter.

9:45 p.m. | FSU enters halftime with double-digit lead

The FSU defense dominated NC State's offense in the first half.

The Seminoles enter halftime with a 17-3 lead after holding the Wolfpack to 133 yards (75 passing and 58 rushing) and six first downs on 30 plays.

NC State quarterback Devin Leary completed just five of his 14 pass attempts for 75 yards. He also threw an interception to FSU safety Jammie Robinson. Running back Jordan Houston leads the Wolfpack in rushing (eight carries for 40 yards) and receiving (one catch for 34 yards).

After going scoreless in the first 18:30, the Seminoles tallied 17 unanswered points in the second quarter.

Wide receiver Mycah Pittman came down with a one-handed grab on a 17-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jordan Travis. FSU scored its other touchdown on a 12-yard run from running back Lawrance Toafili.

Maybe the most encouraging news for the Seminoles came on the final play of the half. Struggling kicker Ryan Fitzgerald connected on a 47-yard field goal as time expired before his teammates mobbed him. He had missed four of his last five field goals.

Travis went 10 of 17 for 117 yards and a touchdown and leads FSU in rushing with 86 yards on five carries. Receiver Ontaria Wilson leads the Seminoles in receiving with 41 yards on two receptions.

8:50 p.m. | NC State leads FSU heading into second quarter

FSU vs. NC State has been a defensive battle so far.

The Wolfpack lead 3-0 heading into the second quarter, but the Seminoles face a fourth-and-3 at their opponent's 23-yard line.

The FSU offense has 78 yards and four first downs on 19 plays. NC State has only 36 yards and two first downs on nine plays.

How healthy the Seminole defense is for the rest of the game will be worth monitoring. Defensive end Jared Verse, defensive tackle Robert Cooper and nickel cornerback Kevin Knowles II left the game with apparent injuries during FSU's final defensive drive of the first quarter.

Defensive end Jared Verse and linebacker Amari Gainer also are participating in pregame warmups. Verse continues to wear a brace around his left knee. Quarterback Jordan Travis, who went down with an injury against Louisville on Sept. 16, is no longer wearing a brace around his left knee.

Starting defensive tackle Fabien Lovett is on the field but not dressed out. Lovett has not played in a game since suffering a lower right leg injury against LSU on Sept. 4.

Wide receivers Winston Wright Jr. and Ja'Khi Douglas, tight end Jackson West and center Thomas Shrader are among other players who are not dressed out.

7:22 p.m. | Carter-Finley Stadium lights are now working

The Carter-Finley Stadium lights just started working.

Which means Florida State's football game at NC State won't be delayed that much beyond its initial 8:05 p.m. kickoff time.

If the countdown clock on the Carter-Finley Stadium videoboard is correct, this game will begin at 8:12 p.m.

7:15 p.m. | FSU vs. NC State officially delayed because of stadium lighting issue

Florida State's football game at NC State has been officially delayed from its 8:05 kickoff time.

The Carter-Finley Stadium lights are not functioning correctly. The game will begin 47 minutes after the lights start working again, per NC State.

"Due to an issue with the stadium lighting system, the start of tonight's game has been delayed," said a message on the Carter-Finley Stadium videoboard. "All fans must leave the seating bowl area but may congregate on the concourse. Please move carefully to the nearest seating section exit. Follow the instructions of police and security personnel."

Stay tuned for more updates.

7 p.m. | Carter-Finley Stadium lights don't appear to be working

The Carter-Finley Stadium lights don't appear to be working.

Tom Block, the pregame host and sideline/locker room radio reporter for all FSU football games, said via Twitter that there is a lighting issue.

The field looks to be quite dark without the lights functioning. Whether this problem will cause the game to be delayed remains unclear.

6 p.m. | Pregame injury updates

There will be a handful of FSU players worth monitoring during pregame warmups.

Barring a pregame setback, defensive end Jared Verse is expected to receive a full workload. He returned from a knee injury in FSU’s game against Wake Forest last Saturday and saw just 23 snaps. He suffered his injury at Louisville on Sept. 16.

On Tuesday, FSU head coach Mike Norvell seemed to project left tackle Robert Scott Jr. as a game-time decision and linebacker Amari Gainer as available but on a snap count.

Scott has yet to play in a game since he suffered a lower right leg injury at Louisville. Gainer has not played in a game since he suffered a lower leg injury in the Aug. 27 season opener against Duquesne. Both players participated in pregame warmups before the Wake Forest game. They also participated in practice this week.

Defensive tackle Fabien Lovett traveled with the team to NC State. He is looking to play in a game for the first time since he went down with a lower right leg injury against LSU on Sept. 4. He did not travel with the team to Louisville.

Wide receivers Winston Wright Jr. (car accident) and Ja’Khi Douglas (unspecified injury) have yet to play this season but are expected to return at some point. Douglas has been a limited participant in pregame warmups before the last two games.

Reserve tight end Jackson West has not played in a game yet this season for unspecified reasons. Backup center Thomas Shrader saw action against Duquesne but has yet to play in a game since. Reserve Darion Williamson did not play against Wake Forest after suffering an undisclosed injury against Boston College on Sept. 24.

Offensive linemen Bless Harris and Kayden Lyles, linebacker Stephen Dix Jr. and walk-on running back CJ Campbell are out for the season with undisclosed injuries.
