Tuesday updates: Accident alert status lifted for Fort Collins, Windsor

A fresh coat of snow on the ground prompted Fort Collins and area towns to go on accident alert and schools to delay their typical schedules Tuesday.

The Fort Collins and Loveland area generally received around 4 inches of snow through 7 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29., according to the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network.

As of Tuesday morning, the main storm front is moving east of Denver. Light snow is forecast to continue throughout the morning with most Front Range locations seeing less than an inch of additional accumulation and mountains and foothills another 1 to 3 inches, according to the National Weather Service.

Accident alerts lifted for Fort Collins, Windsor

Both Fort Collins and Windsor are no longer on accident alert.

Loveland on accident alert

Loveland will also be on accident alert Tuesday morning, the city's police department announced. If you're involved in a minor crash without injury, impairment, a noninsured vehicle or vehicles that can't be moved involved, you should exchange information with the other driver(s) and make an accident report at dmv.colorado.gov/report-accident, the police department said in a tweet.

Fort Collins, Windsor announce accident alert status

Fort Collins and Windsor are on accident alert due to the difficult driving condition because of the snow.

That means if you’re involved in a noninjury, nonalcohol/drug related crash to exchange information and report online at www.fcgov.com/police/coplogic-start-report in Fort Collins or https://dmv.colorado.gov/report-accident in Windsor.

Front Range Community College in Fort Collins delays start

Front Range Community College's Larimer campus will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29.

Larimer Campus classes that start on or after 10 a.m. will run as scheduled. Classes scheduled to start before 10 a.m. are canceled with the exception of classes that last until 10:45 a.m. or later. Those classes will start when the campus opens at 10 a.m.

Some in-person classes that start before 10 a.m. may meet remotely. Classes and services that are scheduled to be online/remote will operate with no delays.

Poudre School District, Thompson School District on delayed start

Poudre School District and Thompson School District are operating on two-hour delays Tuesday, a decision both districts announced Monday due to the forecast.
