5:19 p.m. | Georgia QB Stetson Bennett opens second half with interception

UGA football got the ball to open the second half, but on the Bulldogs' fifth play, Stetson Bennett threw a deep pass that was intercepted. The ball was intended for Ladd McConkey, but it seemed as if there was confusion.

4:55 p.m.| Georgia Bulldogs make it a two-score game at halftime

Georgia never got in the end zone in the first half, but Jack Podlesny's 37-yard field goal as time expired in the first half made it 9-0 Bulldogs.

Stetson Bennett is 10 of 15 for only 74 yards. Georgia has 161 yards to Kentucky's 119.

4:32 p.m.| Georgia Bulldogs settle for another field goal

Georgia again couldn't penetrate Kentucky's defense inside the red zone, Jack Podlesny kicks a 24-yard field goal to make the Bulldogs lead 6-0. Stetson Bennett is 5 of 7 for 48 yards with no completion longer than 12 yards.

4:24 p.m.| Georgia leads 3-0 heading to second quarter

Kelee Ringo's second interception of the season came with Kentucky driving again. The redshirt sophomore picked off a Will Levis pass near the end zone but decided to take it out. He returned it 45 yards. Georgia has the ball at its own 47.

4:10 p.m.| Georgia leads 3-0 heading to second quarter

Jack Podlesny's 27-yard field goal was the only scoring of the first half. Georgia has leaned heavily on its running game with Kenny McIntosh and Daijun Edwards. Will Levis is 5 of 6 for 63 yards with Kentucky facing third down near midfield to start second quarter.

3:16 p.m.|Georgia could have a change to its starting offensive line

Devin Willock was working as the starting right guard during several reps I saw pregame. Usual starter Tate Ratledge is here and dressed out, but I did not see him go through drills. Ratledge has started all 10 games at right guard this season. Willock started against Tennessee at left guard for an injured Xavier Truss and has been part of the line rotation.

3:07 p.m.|Tight ends present don't include Arik Gilbert

No sign of Arik Gilbert who when dressed out is essentially the fourth tight end. He made the trip to Mississippi State last week. Brock Bowers, Darnell Washington, Oscar Delp, Brett Seither and Ryland Goede are here.

Still haven't seen AD Mitchell as indicated before. So he's not going to play this week.

2:58 p.m.|Updates on Georgia Bulldogs Javon Bullard, Amarius Mims

Good news for Georgia. Nickel "STAR" defensive back Javon Bullard is dressed out and warming up after sustaining a leg contusion last week.

Offensive tackle Amarius Mims (MCL) also is going through pregame work on the field and could be be back in the rotation.

“I think it’s tremendous for us," center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger said. "It allows a lot of flexibility. It allows guys to get breathers, it allows guys to be fresh.”

2:18 p.m.| Another weekly Georgia footbal AD Mitchell update

The wide receivers are on the field going through early pregame work with position coach Byran McClendon. There's no sign of AD Mitchell who has been battling a high ankle sprain for most of the season.

Coach Kirby Smart said before the practice of the week Monday: "He was not where he could come out of breaks and do the things required to play receiver, and that's tough."

Smart sidestepped providing an update on Tuesday, but running back Kenny McIntosh said after practice Wednesday: “He’s coming along real well. He’s back running, he’s getting in the mix in practice. He’s going to be fine. He’s trying to get healthy, that’s all, before he steps back on the field. He’s not really rushing. He wants to make sure that’s he’s back to AD.

1:38 p.m.|Kentucky Wildcats in search of points after dry spell

Kentucky's offense is in search of answers. It hasn't topped 21 points the last three games. Coach Mark Stoops and offensive coaches have spent plenty of time this week working on it.

“The reality of it is we need to score more points,” first-year offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello told reporters this week. “He’s not happy with that, I’m not happy with that, there’s not a player in that locker room that’s happy with that. It’s time to get it fixed. We’ve got to do a good job of being more efficient.”

1:09 p.m.|Georgia football game captains and today's referee

The referee today is James Carter. He called the 2021 game here between these teams and the Georgia-Auburn game this season.

Georgia’s game captains today: defensive tackle Jalen Carter, wide receiver Kearis Jackson, center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger and defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse.

12:51 p.m.|Georgia Bulldogs ready for elements

Georgia players at least will be ready for the cold today after last week at Mississippi State.

“Put some Vaseline on you’ll be all right,” center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger said.

Indeed, according to webmd.com: “Petroleum jelly can protect your skin against wind and cold. Just rub a thin layer on any area that might get exposed to the air.”

Running back Kenny  McIntosh was asked what he learned last week about playing in the cold.

“Stay in front of the heater,” he said.
