The Jacksonville Jaguars open the 2022 NFL Draft with the No. 1 overall pick for the second consecutive year. Thursday's opening night of the draft will be the team's first under new head coach Doug Pederson, who led the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl in the 2017 season. The Jaguars, 3-14 last year under now-dismissed coach Urban Meyer, seek to strengthen the team's support for 2021 No. 1 overall quarterback Trevor Lawrence of Clemson. Top candidates include Ickey Ekwonu of N.C. State, Aidan Hutchinson of Michigan, Evan Neal of Alabama and Travon Walker of Georgia. Jacksonville holds the No. 1 pick for only the second time in franchise history, seeking a player to follow in the path of past first-round stars like Tony Boselli and Fred Taylor.
