Nashville Predators fall to Minnesota Wild in waning seconds of regulation

Coming off their highest scoring performance of the season Saturday, the Nashville Predators followed with a 4-3 loss Sunday afternoon in a Central Division matchup against the Minnesota Wild.

Nashville was coming off a 7-3 victory Saturday against the Florida Panthers but fell behind by seven points to the Wild in the wild-card race.

Twenty-seven seconds after Nino Niederreiter tied the score at 3-all, former Predator Ryan Hartman put the Wild ahead with 20.4 second remaining in regulation.

Brandon Duhaime gave the Wild a 1-0 lead six seconds into the second period. Kirill Kaprizov followed with a power-play goal 1:28 later, his 32nd goal of the season.

Tommy Novak scored his third goal in two games to cut the Predators' deficit in half just over 17 minutes into the second. But Kaprizov's second goal of the game, 1:23 into the third, though, gave the home team a two-goal lead.

Predators captain Roman Josi cut the deficit to one again when he scored his 15th goal with 4:56 left in regulation.

Predators forward Filip Forsberg missed his fourth consecutive game with an upper-body injury.

The Predators are 26-22-6. The Wild are 30-21-5.
