After a trip to Pittsburgh and a long weekend, Vanderbilt men's basketball (4-1) returns home with a game against Mississippi Valley State (0-3). The HBCU rates last of 358 teams in the KenPom ratings in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Most recently, the Delta Devils played Ole Miss, leading at halftime before eventually losing by 15 points. MVSU also lost to St. John's and Cal Baptist.

The Delta Devils are led by Lindsey Hunter, like Jerry Stackhouse a former NBA player. Stackhouse and Hunter were teammates on the Detroit Pistons from 1998-2000.

For the Commodores, this game will be somewhat of a tune-up before heading into a difficult stretch of nonconference games against SMU, Loyola-Chicago and Temple. (TV: 7 p.m. CT, SEC Network+)

LAST TIME: Vanderbilt basketball pulls away late to beat Pittsburgh, 68-52
