FINAL | Clemson 30 South Carolina 0

Not scoring hurts but South Carolina coming into this game already bowl eligible made for quite the dynamic coming into the night.

Clemson adds late touchdown to go up 30

Nicely designed draw play and back Phil Mafah barrles his way into the end zone from the 6.

Clemson leads South Carolina 30-0, 2:30 left.

BT Potter has made 3 field goals for Clemson

Potter knocks another field goal through, this one from 49 yards. The Tigers lead the Gamecocks 23-0.

END 3 | Clemson 20 South Carolina 0

Clemson extends lead with field goal

BT Potter nails 47-yard field goal and Clemson extends its lead to 20-0. 9:05 3Q mark.

Clayton White's defense continues to limit the Tigers. USC offense really needs to string first downs together.

HALFTIME | Clemson 17 South Carolina 0

Let's be honest, the score could be worse for the Gamecocks. But the defense got a couple of key stops and this deficit is manageable, albeit, USC is going to need to do a number of things better in the second half.

Jason Brown throws second INT for South Carolina

Brown takes a deep shot and Andrew Booth Jr. picks him off at the 1-yard line going in. Obviously the Gamecocks couldn't afford to turnover the ball over against Clemson, but so far, it's only netted 3 points for the opponent.

3:17 before half, Tigers lead USC 17-0.

Clemson's Kobe Pace scores another big rushing TD

South Carolina's defense is getting gashed right now. Kobe Pace goes in from 34 yards out and Clemson now leads 17-0 after the PAT. Tigers have 121 rushing yards, the Gamecocks have 12 total yards.

12:10 left before the half.

END 1 | Clemson 10 South Carolina 0

Tiger defense has been stymieing. Just 12 yards given up on four drives. Four straight three and outs.

Cam Smith the bright spot for the Gamecocks in that opening frame with the interception.

Clemson kicks field goal off South Carolina interception

The Tigers were able to add points off the interception from Jason Brown, but just a field goal.

At this point in the game, USC needs to be looking for silver linings and only allowing a field goal off a drive that started at its 14-yard line is pretty big to keep Clemson from trying to run the score up.

10-0 Clemson, 2:37 1Q

USC Gamecocks CB Cam Smith looks healthy

Smith suffered a knee injury last week during the Auburn game and was listed as questionable all week leading up to tonight.

Something tells me he's fine. He picks off Tiger QB Uiaglelei on the deep shot and gives USC the ball back, down 7-0.

Clemson scores on opening drive

Welp. That was fast. Clemson RB Will Shipley breaks a few arm tackles en route to the end zone from 29 yards out.

South Carolina's defense hasn't really given up too many long TD runs like that season, outside of the Missouri game a couple of weeks ago. Gamecocks continue to be Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde.

It's 7-0 Tigers, 11:44 1Q

COLUMBIA – It's been six meetings since South Carolina has left the field victorious over its instate rival Clemson.

And with the annual Palmetto Bowl not being played last season due to COVID-19 scheduling restrictions – the first time USC and Clemson hadn't played since 1908 – seven years has felt longer in Columbia.

The two renew their rivalry tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET inside Williams-Brice Stadium.

Bowl picture for USC: South Carolina has clinched a bowl bid. Here's where latest projections say Gamecocks will play

Shane Beamer isn't new to the Gamecocks-Tigers rivalry, he spent a few seasons on Steve Spurrier's staff at USC, but it'll be his first as a head coach. First-year South Carolina coaches have struggled against Clemson in the past, but Beamer and his Gamecocks (6-5) have already bucked several programs trends already in 2021.

'Just the start': South Carolina proves doubters wrong with bowl-clinching win

Senior transfer quarterback Jason Brown will need to have his most productive, and mistake-free performance to date, to give South Carolina a shot. Defensively, Kingsley "J.J." Enagbare, Zacch Pickens, Jabari Ellis and company will need to continue to create pressure on Tiger QB D.J. Uiagelelei.
