Live updates: St. Joseph beats Bergen Catholic in Non-Public A wrestling semifinal

Two weeks after St. Joseph beat Bergen Catholic to snap the Crusaders' 67-match winning streak against county foes, the Green Knights did it again with a 28-21 win in the Non-Public A semifinals.

St. Joseph won nine of 14 bouts in the win, and will face Delbarton in the final on Sunday.

Here is match-by-match recap:

113 pounds: Seach Hibler (BC) p. Mikey Bautista (SJR), 3:54

After taking a 6-2 lead with a takedown and near fall at the end of the first period, Hibler secured the pin in the second. That's a 12-point swing from when Bergen Catholic's Chris Nucifora lost by injury default against St. Joseph two weeks ago.

Team score: Bergen Catholic 6, St. Joseph 0

120 pounds: Vinny Paino (SJR) d. Brian Melamud (BC), 5-3

In a match that he led 1-0 after two periods, Paino scored a reversal with 22 seconds left to beat Melamud and avenge his loss from two weeks ago.

Team score: Bergen Catholic 6, St. Joseph 3

126 pounds: Noah Kochman (BC) d. Jimmy Sloan (SJR), 2-1

Kochman road Sloan out for the entire third period to secure the 2-1 decision.

Team score: Bergen Catholic 9, St. Joseph 3

132 pounds: Donny Almeyda (SJR) m.d. Riley Halal (BC), 14-4

After taking a 4-1 lead with a pair of first-period takedowns, Almeyda finished off an 14-4 decision to get St. Joe's back within two points.

Team score: Bergen Catholic 9, St. Joseph 7

138 pounds: Mateo Sgambellone (SJR) d. Augie Hibler (BC), 4-3

After losing 7-1 in this matchup two weeks ago, Sgambellone brought the Green Knights' crowd to its feet with a reversal and ride-out in the third period to give his team a 10-9 lead.

Team score: St. Joseph 10, Bergen Catholic 9

144 pounds: Ryan Ford (BC) d. Yannis Charles (SJR), 6-3

Ford avenges his loss from two weeks to put the Crusaders back in the lead.

Team score: Bergen Catholic 12, St. Joseph 10

150 pounds: Frank DiBella (SJR) d. Chris Bacchioni (BC), 3-1 SV

DiBella, who lost at 157 pounds the last time these teams met, scored 20 seconds into sudden victory to put the Green Knights back ahead.

Team score: St. Joseph 13, Bergen Catholic 12,

157 pounds: Aidan Wallace (BC) p. SJR's AJ DiGiovanni, 1:44

It's another lead change as Bergen Catholic gets its second pin of the night.

Team score: Bergen Catholic 18, St. Joseph 13

165 pounds: Ryan Burton (SJR) d. Eric Broadie (BC), 13-7

Last time these teams met, St. Joseph won five straight bouts starting with a major decision by Burton. He won again but was limited to a decision in this one.

175 pounds: Rocco Dellagatta (SJR) d. Justin Onello (BC), 3-2 TB

Dellagatta's reversal in the first tiebreaker period made the difference and put St. Joseph back ahead for the third time.

190 pounds: Michael Dellagatta (SJR) d. Leo Varga (BC), 7-2

Bergen Catholic again limited bonus points as Varga held Dellagatta to a decision. Dellagatta won by technical fall two weeks ago.

215 pounds: AJ Fricchione (BC) d. Aidan Schlett (SJR), 2-1 TB

In other thriller between these two, Fricchione got the best of Schlett with an escape in the second tiebreaker.

285 pounds: Jimmy Mullen (SJR) d. Benji Shue (BC), 12-6

This one was tied 4-4 in the second period after a takedown by Shue. But Mullen finished the period with a late reversal and went on to win 12-6.

106 pounds: Jon McGinty (SJR) d. Nathan Braun (BC), 3-2 UTB

McGinty's win in an ultimate tiebreaker sealed the Green Knights' victory. They will face Delbarton in the Non-Public A final.
