8:00 a.m. Saturday | Tropical Storm Warning dropped for Sarasota-Manatee

7:30 a.m. Saturday | Sarasota-Manatee likely to have minimal impact from tropical system
Though Sarasota and Manatee counties can still expect some heavy rain and breezy conditions, Potential Tropical Cyclone One has failed to develop into a tropical storm and has continued on a path toward South Florida.
According to the National Weather Service, "While the system has been slow to organize, long durations of rain over southwest Florida have contributed to a real flood risk, with a flood watch still in effect for Sarasota, DeSoto, Highlands, Charlotte, and Lee counties through this evening."
The NWS also warns that breezy winds "will also cause a high risk of rip currents along
area beaches."
The system is expected to have crossed Florida into the Atlantic Ocean by this evening.
