TSSAA basketball live updates: Green Hill advances to semifinals in its third year of existence

The TSSAA BlueCross Girls Basketball Championships tip off Tuesday at Middle Tennessee State's Murphy Center. Follow the day's Class 3A and Class 4A quarterfinal contests here.

Games start at 10 a.m. with the last tip off scheduled for 6 p.m., or 15 minutes after the prior game.

Green Hill knocks off Clarksville in first state appearance

In just its third year as a school, and despite a near-.500 record, Green Hill is moving on to the Class 4A semifinals after a 55-45 win over Clarksville.

Imari Berry scored 17 points but fouled out with four minutes to play, seriously hurting Clarksville's chances of a comeback. The Wildcats shot 21% from the field.

Aubrey Blankenship scored 20 points for the Hawks, who will face Bartlett on Friday at 10 a.m.

Clarksville and Green Hill still mired in slugfest

Green Hill went ahead by six points in the third quarter before Imari Berry led a mini-rally to tie the game. Berry has 12 points, but the Wildcats are just 9-of-37 from the floor.

Regan Perkins hit a reverse layup to put the Hawks ahead, 32-30, going into the final quarter.

Green Hill leading Clarksville 21-19 at halftime

Kensley Carter hit a last-second jumper to give the Hawks a narrow advantage at intermission.

With Imari Berry on the bench for long stretches of the first half, Clarksville has struggled offensively, shooting just 25% from the field. Berry still has a game-high seven points.

The Hawks are shooting 42% but have turned it over eight times compared to just four for the Wildcats.

Clarksville and Green Hill in close battle after a quarter

Green Hill scored the first five points of the game but Clarksville fought its way back.

The Wildcats and Hawks are tied, 11-11, after eight minutes of play. Imari Berry picked up a pair of fouls in the first quarter, but hit a buzzer-beater to end the quarter and has five points.

Samford signee Aubrey Blankenship leads the Hawks with six points.

Four-star guard Imari Berry, the No. 32 player in the Class of 2024, stars for Clarksville.

Bartlett advances with 20-point win over Sevier County

Bartlett knocked Sevier County out of the tournament with a 57-37 victory in the Class 4A quarterfinals.

Raven Sims led Bartlett with 14 points and Nevaeh Scott added 12.

Sevier County was led by Natali Schultz with nine points.

Bartlett comfortably ahead of Sevier County heading into 4th

Bartlett increased its lead to 18 points (38-20) over Sevier County in the third quarter.

Sevier County had a shot at trimming the deficit to 10 with 1:35 left in the quarter, but missed a pair of 3-point attempts.

Neveah Scott, Mallory Collier lead Bartlett to 22-10 halftime lead

Bartlett jumped to a 22-10 halftime lead on Sevier County.

The Panthers held Sevier County to four field goals in the first half and 25% shooting (4-of-16).

Nevaeh Scott is leading Bartlett with eight points while Mallory Collier already had seven rebounds and two blocks.

Bartlett used its size advantage and held Sevier County to two points for the first six minutes of the game. With 6-foot-5 Mallory Collier leading the way Bartlett dominated the boards.

South Side ends defending champ Upperman's season

Miss Basketball finalist Ti'mia Lawson scored 16 points and Jaidynn Askins added 10 points to lead Jackson South Side to a 44-31 win over defending Class 3A state champion Upperman on Tuesday.

Jayla Cobb led Upperman with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Miss Basketball finalist Abigail Johnson had six points and 11 rebounds. She played in foul trouble through much of the game.

South Side builds nine-point lead

South Side's pressure defense held Upperman to just five third-quarter points to take a 29-20 lead.

Miss Basketball finalist Ti'mia Lawson leads South Side with nine points. Upperman's Abigail Johnson, also a Miss Basketball finalist, has two points and four fouls.

Upperman, South Side tied at halftime

Jayla Cobb has seven points for Upperman and Ti'mia Lawson has seven for South Side in a 15-all game at halftime.

South Side shot 31.3% from the field in the first half. Upperman shot 60%.

First to 50 wins?

Upperman leads Jackson South Side 9-7 after one quarter in their much anticipated Class 3A state quarterfinal. Jayla Cobb has seven points for the Lady Bees, who are the defending state champions.

South Side, which finished runner-up a year ago is led by the duo of Albany Collins and Ti'mia Lawson, who have three points apiece.

Elizabethton advances past Dyersburg

Elizabethton jumped out to a 27-20 halftime lead and pulled away late for a 66-54 win over Dyersburg in the TSSAA Class 3A state quarterfinals.

Lina Lyon led the Cyclones (29-4) with 19 points. Marlee Mathena added 18 points and 13 rebounds and Rena Lane 14 for Elizabethton, which plays at 6 p.m. Thursday in the semifinals.

Taylor Crawford had a huge game for Dyersburg, hitting 12-of-30 from the field and 8-of-13 from the free throw line for 33 points. Netala Dixon added 13 points.

South Gibson runs away it, knocks off Dyer County

Things looked uncertain for South Gibson after the first 16 minutes. But the Lady Hornets' defense leaned on Dyer County and its offense pulled away in fourth to give South Gibson a 46-29 win over the Lady Choctaws in the 3A quarterfinals.

Karson Dunn led the Lady Hornets with 16 points, including four 3-pointers, with nine rebounds. Hallie Allen added seven points and nine rebounds as South Gibson advances to face Livingston Academy at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the semifinal.

South Gibson takes control entering fourth quarter

After trailing by three at halftime, South Gibson's defense smothered Dyer County in the third quarter, not allowing a field goal. The Lady Choctaws scored only one point, off a free-throw, and South Gibson's Lily Baggett splashed a 3-pointer as time expired in the third to give the Lady Hornets a 31-23 lead.

Dyer County hasn't scored in third quarter

South Gibson has opened up a 31-22 lead and has held the Lady Choctaws without a basket late in the third quarter.

Dyer County holds 22-19 halftime lead on South Gibson

Dyer County's Caitlyn Berry sank a 3-point in the final seconds of the first half to give the Lady Choctaws a halftime lead after trailing by as many as seven in the first quarter. Dyer County hit all four of its 3's in the second quarter to wrestling control of the game.

Dyer County erases deficit to take second-quarter lead

A trio of early quarter 3-pointers by the Lady Choctaws' has quickly erased South Gibson's lead. Dyer County's Eden Larue knocked down a pair and Tanner Work drilled another as Dyer held a 17-14 lead with 4:08 left in the first half.

South Gibson out to 7-point lead after first quarter

Gibson County's Hallie Allen drilled a 3-pointer with just under 20 seconds remaining as the Lady Hornets hold a 12-5 lead after the first quarter of their Class 3A state quarterfinal against Dyer County. Dyer County forward Paris Halliburton picked up two quick fouls early in the first quarter and had to sit as Gibson took control.

Livingston Academy holds off Greeneville

Down 10 at halftime, Livingston Academy has defeated Greeneville 63-60 in the Class 3A state quarterfinals. Mallie Coleman's free throw with .5 seconds left sealed the win for the Lady Wildcats.

Livingston Academy makes second-half run

Watch out Livingston Academy fans, but the Lady Wildcats have taken control in the second half. Livingston Academy owns a 51-47 lead on Greeneville with 3:09 left in the fourth quarter after trailing by 10 at halftime.

Halle Ledbetter and Mallie Coleman have 12 points apiece for Livingston Academy. Teammates Aleah Melton and Ellie Butler have 10 and nine respectively.

Tambryn Ellenburg has nine for Greeneville.

Greeneville leads by 10 at halftime

Greeneville leads Livingston Academy 32-22 at halftime of their Class 3A state quarterfinal despite just two points from Miss Basketball finalist Lauren Bailey, who sat much of the first half with two fouls. Tambryn Ellenburg leads the Greene Devils with nine points.

Mallie Coleman has six for Livingston Academy, which shot just 9-of-25 from the field in the first half.

Greeneville roars to double-digit lead

Greeneville wasted no time jumping out to an 18-5 lead over Livingston Academy in their TSSAA Class 3A state quarterfinal. Tambryn Ellenburg has nine points to lead all scorers. Teammate Kyla Jobe has five.

Mallie Coleman had all five of the Lady Wildcats points.
