TUSCALOOSA — Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl didn't hesitate to proclaim that Alabama will "absolutely be our greatest challenge so far this year."

It doesn't help that No. 4 Auburn (14-1, 3-0 SEC) has to go on the road to face the No. 25 Crimson Tide (11-4, 2-1), which will have a chip on its shoulder after a clunker at Missouri.

The season's first installment of the rivalry game tips off at 8 p.m. Tuesday (ESPN) at Coleman Coliseum.

"I think the thing that jumps out to me is just where we started when we first got here," Pearl said. "In men's basketball, both programs — ESPN was not covering our game. It was the late game on the SEC Network or something else. Anyway, it's good to have our programs where the game matters more than just to the people here in the state of Alabama."
