A shooting Wednesday left a reporter and a 9-year-old girl dead and a news photographer and a woman critically injured in Orange County’s Pine Hills neighborhood -- hours after a woman was killed at the same scene.

5:50 p.m. update

Spectrum News 13 photographer Jesse Walden, who was initially in critical condition after being shot Wednesday afternoon while on assignment in Pine Hills provided an update to his condition Thursday through a Facebook post.

“I lost one of my best friends, Dylan, yesterday,” Walden said. “I was shot, and now I’ve had surgery and I am OK. Thank you all so much for your well wishes. I haven’t had my phone till now, so I’m sorry I haven’t been able to respond to most of you. I’m very lucky to be alive.”


5:15 p.m. update

New details are being released about the 9-year-old girl killed in Wednesday’s mass shooting in Pine Hills.

4 p.m. update

Deputies have released body camera video of the arrest of 19-year-old Keith Moses. Channel 9 is turning that video around now and will have it available for you to watch shortly.

3:15 p.m. update

GoFundMe accounts have been created to support the families of a TV journalist and 9-year-old girl who were killed in Orange County shootings on Wednesday.

Dylan’s sister Rachel Lyons created the fundraising account to support the family and help pay for funeral services. It has raised more than $35,000 so far.

A family member also created a GoFundMe for T’yonna Major, the 9-year-old girl who was killed Wednesday.

1:40 p.m. update

Orange County Sheriff Mina provided an update Thursday afternoon on the three shootings that happened Wednesday in the Pine Hills neighborhood.

He said suspected gunman Keith Moses, 19, fatally shot T’yonna Major, 9, and critically injured her mother, whose identity has not yet been released, on Herrington Street.

Shortly thereafter, Moses fatally shot News 13 reporter Dylan Lyons and critically injured his photographer, Jesse Walden.

Mina said Moses was found nearby with his gun still hot before he was taken to a hospital because he claimed he was injured and could not breathe.

Once at the hospital, Moses fought with staff as well as staff at the jail, where they tried to interview him, Mina said.

While being questioned, Moses pretended to be asleep and would not speak to detectives before starting to physically fight with them, Mina said.

Moses is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Nathacha Augustin, 38, whom he killed earlier Wednesday at that same scene, Mina said. Click here to read more about that.

Moses will also be charged with homicide in the deaths of Lyons and Major, Mina said.

“We’re not looking for anyone else,” he said. ”He’s our guy.”

The sheriff said Moses is a known gang member, but the shootings were not gang-related.

Deputies who arrested Moses said they suspected that he might have been under the influence of some sort of drug, but that has not been confirmed.

Ninth Circuit State Attorney Monique Worrell told reporters that Moses’ only adult offense was possession of 4.6 grams of marijuana.

She said the Florida Department of Law Enforcement does not test the substance, so her office cannot prove the case.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings spoke about crime involving Central Florida youth during that news conference following a community roundtable.

“We are recommitted to utilizing our funding -- your tax dollars -- in an appropriate way to address these issues going forward, long-term,” he said.

Mina added that, “Bullets don’t only kill victims, they rip apart entire families.”

9:15 a.m. update

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identities of the victims who were shot and killed in Pine Hills on Wednesday.

Deputies said 38-year-old Nathacha Augustin and 9-year-old T’yonna Major were both shot and killed by 19-year-old Keith Moses.

Deputies also confirmed 24-year-old reporter Dylan Lyons as a third victim who was slain.

Orange County Sheriff John Mina said he plans to talk with the media around 11:30 a.m. to give an update on the mass shooting investigation.


6:55 a.m. update

A memorial for the victims of Wednesday’s mass shooting has been started outside of Orlando Regional Medical Center.

News photographer Jesse Walden and a woman who was also shot are still undergoing treatment inside ORMC.


5:05 a.m. update

Spectrum News 13 identified Dylan Lyons as the TV journalist who died Wednesday after he was shot while covering another deadly shooting in Pine Hills.

Spectrum News 13 also identified Jesse Walden as the news photographer who was shot. Walden was critically injured and is still in a hospital.


12:01 a.m. update

Today’s news of a TV reporter shot and killed while covering another shooting scene in Orlando has devastated the journalism community.

The suspect is also accused of shooting a mother and a 9-year-old girl inside their home.
