Live weather updates: Multiple school districts under 2-hour delay as bitter cold lingers in El Paso County

Jan. 31—Sunday night's cold chill continues to linger into Monday night as temperatures reach -2 degrees in the Colorado Springs area, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

6:45 a.m.: School delays

* Elbert School District 200: 2 Hours late due to frigid temperatures.

6:15 a.m.: Organization delay

* Upper Arkansas Area Council of Gov: 2 Hours late.

6:10 a.m.: The cold front that hit Colorado Springs this past weekend lingers for one more day before warmer winter temperatures emerge back in the forecast later this week.

Bundle up Tuesday, with wind chill values forecast between -10 and 0 degrees. Sunny skies are predicted with a high of 26 degrees, according to the National Weather Station in Pueblo.

5:45 a.m.: Head start program transportation canceled

5:30 a.m.: School delays, chance of snow

10:30 p.m.: The temperature in Colorado Springs dropped 8 degrees since 8:30 p.m. The Springs is at 0 degrees as of 10:30 p.m., with a wind chill of -10 degrees. By 2 a.m., the temperature is expected to hit -4 degrees, with a wind chill of -15, according to the weather service.

Wednesday: The Springs is expected to be sunny, with a high near 42 degrees. On Wednesday night, mostly clear skies are expected, with a low around 16.

Thursday: Residents can expect sunny skies, with a high near 45 degrees. Later in the night, the Springs could see mostly clear skies, with a low around 22 degrees.

Friday: The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 52 degrees. In the night, partly cloudy skies are expected and a low around 26.

Saturday: Mostly sunny skies are expected, with a high around 47 degrees.
