Livestock report from the Oklahoma City Stockyards:

Oklahoma Weekly Cattle Auction Summary Livestock Weighted Average Report for the week of June 6 through Thursday.

Receipts: 28,336; Last week: 12,647; Last year: 37,502

Compared to last week's light test: Feeder steers and heifers $3-$6 higher. Steer calves $8-$12 higher. Heifer calves sold $4-$7 higher. Demand very good for all classes. Rains moved thru the state once again this week and this helping to improve drought status in most all of the state. This has been great, however not so much for the wheat farmer as they continue to wait for pastures to dry to harvest. Currently harvest is only 22 percent complete. Some reports of wheat sprouting in the head has been reported. Drying winds of the past would be great about now. Slaughter cows sold $4-$7 higher. Slaughter bulls $6-$7 higher. Packer demand good. Supply included: 88% Feeder Cattle (51% Steers, 0% Dairy Steers, 46% Heifers, 0% Cows, 3% Bulls); 10% Slaughter Cattle (91% Cows, 9% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (41% Bred Cows, 2% Bred Heifers, 57% Cow-Calf Pairs, 1% Heifer Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 65%.

Slaughter Bulls: 1,300-2,425 lbs. Average dressing $93-$111 (weighted average price $105).

SLAUGHTER CATTLE

Slaughter cattle in Texas $1 higher. Kansas sold $2 higher. In Nebraska, live and dressed sales $3-$4 higher. Slaughter cattle on a national basis for negotiated cash trades through Friday afternoon totaled about 85,204 head. Last week's total head count was 84,397 head.

South Plains Direct Markets: Kansas and Texas

Federally Inspected Cattle: 674,000 up 0.6 percent from a year ago. year.

WESTERN CORNBELT DIRECT LEAN HOG BASE PRICE

The weighted average price of packers bids on a carcass basis Friday was $117.36.

HOG FUTURES

Dressed Basis: (74% yield): June $107.80; July $105.47; Aug. $103.75; Oct. $92.57.

HOG SLAUGHTER

Federally Inspected Hogs: 2.372 million head down 2.5 percent from last year.

SHEEP SLAUGHTER

Federally Inspected Sheep/Lambs: 34,000 head unchanged from last year.

BOXED BEEF

Estimated Composite Boxed Beef Cutout Values: Friday Boxed beef cut-out values: $1.46 higher from last Friday. Choice 600-900 lbs. $272.04; Select 600-900 lbs. $249.43.

MEAT PRODUCTION

Beef: 548.2 million lbs. up 0.3 percent from a year ago.

Pork: 515.1 million lbs. down 0.6 percent from a year ago.

Lamb: 2.3 million lbs. up 9.5 percent from a year ago.

CATTLE CARCASS WEIGHTS

National Average: This week estimate: 815 lbs.; Last week estimate 820 lbs.; Last year's actual 817 lbs.
