Livestock report from the Oklahoma City Stockyards:

Oklahoma Weekly Cattle Auction Summary Livestock Weighted Average Report for the week of May 9 through Thursday.

Receipts: 28,105; Last report: 27,817; Last year: 24,842

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers steady to $2 lower. Demand moderate for feeder cattle as grains move higher. Demand continues good for the heavier weight cattle as it is cheaper to buy the cattle than to put on the weight. Steer calves sold steady to $3 lower. Heifer calves steady to $3 higher. Demand moderate for calves as summer like temperatures and high humidity has set in. Many areas of the state saw some much needed rain this week. Slaughter cows sold $2-$7 lower, most decline on Lean cows. Slaughter bulls $1 lower. Demand light to moderate for cows. Supply included: 89% Feeder Cattle (51% Steers, 46% Heifers, 3% Bulls); 8% Slaughter Cattle (87% Cows, 13% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (2% Stock Cows, 55% Bred Cows, 9% Bred Heifers, 33% Cow-Calf Pairs, 0% Heifer Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 66%

SLAUGHTER CATTLE

Slaughter cattle in Texas and Kansas sold mostly steady, instance $1 lower. Live and dressed sales $2 lower in Nebraska. Slaughter cattle on a national basis for negotiated cash trades through Friday afternoon totaled 84,253 head. Last week's total head count was 109,180 head.

Federally Inspected Cattle: 657,000 up 2.6 percent from a year ago. year.

WESTERN CORNBELT DIRECT LEAN HOG BASE PRICE

The weighted average price of packers bids on a carcass basis Friday was $102.61.

HOG FUTURES

Dressed Basis: (74% yield): May $100.00; June $100.75; July $101.20; Aug. $101.45.

HOG SLAUGHTER

Federally Inspected Hogs: 2.375 million head down 0.4 percent from last year.

SHEEP SLAUGHTER

Federally Inspected Sheep/Lambs: 37,000 head down 5.1 percent from last year.

BOXED BEEF

Estimated Composite Boxed Beef Cutout Values: Friday noon Boxed beef cut-out values: $1.13 higher from last Friday. Choice 600-900 lbs. $258.43; Select 600-900 lbs. $243.84.

MEAT PRODUCTION

Beef: 544.5 million lbs. up 2.6 percent from a year ago.

Pork: 518.4 million lbs. up 1.2 percent from a year ago.

Lamb: 2.3 million lbs. down 8.0 percent from a year ago.

CATTLE CARCASS WEIGHTS

National Average: This week estimate: 831 lbs.; Last week estimate 832 lbs.; Last year's actual 826 lbs.
