Fourth annual Living Nativity set for Dec. 17 in Carleton
CARLETON – The fourth outdoor Living Nativity, featuring several animals and a church choir, will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at St. Patrick Catholic School, 2996 W. Labo Road.
The event also is sponsored by Divine Grace Church. Admission is free; a freewill offering will be taken.
The last Living Nativity was in 2020 at the school.
“It has been offered every other year. More than 100 have attended each year in the past,” Nicole Jaskot, event chairwoman said.
Participants will walk through more than 12 scenes that tell the Christmas story.
“The real reason for the joyous season is revealed in dramatic fashion,” organizers said. “Please join us for a “Walk to Bethlehem.’ This tradition is highly anticipated.”
More than 25 actors have roles, and the church choir also performs. Several animals also will be involved.
“There will be 30-plus live animals, including a camel, donkey, sheep, goats and other farm animals,” Jaskot said.
Hot chocolate and warm food will be available.
New this year is a food drive.
“We will be accepting nonperishable food and monetary donations to support a local pantry and give back to the community,” Jaskot said.
Luminaries will line the path to the walk. Students from St. Patrick School sold the luminaries for $10 each earlier this season.
