Livingston County is filled with things to do this fall

LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Fall is officially upon us, which means cider, donuts, tricks and treats. Here are some fall events to look forward to in the coming week:

Witches Night Ball

When: 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28

Where: Downtown Howell in The Alley District

Details: Locals are encouraged to dress in your best witchy attire and bring your friends. The alley will be filled with lights, decorations, a DJ, belly dancers, face painting, a henna artist, readers and more.

Gal-O-Ween

When: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5

Where: Downtown Brighton

Details: Grab your gals and head downtown for a night of fall fun. Enjoy promotions from more than 20 participating businesses.

Boots and Belles Harvest Hoedown

When: 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6

Where: Hartland Educational Support Service Center, 9525 Highland Road in Howell

Details: This hoedown event is $20 per family and will include food trucks, photo ops and more.

Brighton Recreation Area Fall Harvest Festival

When: Friday-Sunday, Oct. 6-8.

Where: Bishop Lake Campground, 5210 Bishop Lake Road in Brighton

Details: Campers are encouraged to decorate their campsite, dress in costumes and go trick or treating. To enter the park, visitors must have a recreation passport on their vehicle.

Fowlerville Fall Festival

When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7

Where: Fowlerville Fairgrounds, 8800 W. Grand River Ave.

Details: Guests can enjoy a plethora of free activities, including a bounce house, yard games, a photo booth with props, a craft tent, a scavenger hunt, pumpkin painting, a train and hay rides, a community mural painting and face painting.

Trunk-or-Treat

When: 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7

Where: Michigan State Police Brighton Post, 4337 Buno Road in Brighton

Details: In honor of National Faith and Blue Weekend, Brighton Christian Church and the Michigan State Police Brighton Post are holding a trunk-or-treat event.

Halloween Themed Weekend

When: 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14

Where: Taylor's Beach Campground, 6197 North Burkhart Road in Howell

Details: Admission is $35. Campers are encouraged to dress themselves and their campsites for a costume and campsite contest, plus trick-or-treating and entertainment.

Growl-er Brewfest

When: 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15

Where: SELCRA Meijer Park, 333 Charles H. Orndorf Drive in Brighton

Details: A dog-friendly beer tasting and food truck rally. Early bird admission is $30 until Oct. 9 and $40 after. The event features 12 local craft breweries, a cidery, winery, food trucks, vendors and live music.

Howl-O-Ween

When: 3-5 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 21-22

Where: Howell Nature Center, 1005 Triangle Lake Road

Details: Kids can trick-or-treat and enjoy cider, donuts, activities and more. Cost is $7 per adult and $12 per child for members; $10 per adult and $15 per child for general admission; and children two and under enter free. Registration is required.

Pinckney Spooktacular

When: 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28

Where: Downtown Pinckney

Details: Trunk-or-treat with local businesses decked out in Halloween decorations.

Legend of Sleepy Howell

When: 3:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28

Where: Downtown Howell

Details: Dress up as your favorite Saturday morning cartoon character and enjoy an enormous outdoor trick or treating event with fall-themed activities, including crafts, games, food, vendors, inflatables and more.

Headless Horseman 5K

When: 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28

Where: Downtown Howell

Details: Admission is $30 per person to participate in this 5K through historic neighborhoods. Participants will receive a long sleeve shirt if registered by the end of the day on Oct. 8.
